Tokyo Marui never ceases to amaze with their innovative new designs and improvements in the airsoft world. Once again, they manage to bring us a product which will set the standard to what future guns will be measured with. The all new M870 full metal gas operated pump action shotgun combines realism with convenience for those looking to utilize a shotgun for CQB skirmishing. This innovative new shotgun has multi shot capability allowing for multiple BBs to be discharged with one pull of the trigger; with a quick flip of a switch, the M870 can switch between 3 and 6 BBs discharged with each shot. Until now, shooting more than 3 BBs at a time was reserved only for shell ejecting shotguns; the M870 however uses the same shells as the original TM shotguns as well as the UTG spring shotguns making it easier to keep track of your shells and with the added advantage of having more ammo per shell. The gas operated system allows for a smooth racking action compared to spring powered shotguns to allow for rapid follow up shots and unrivaled speed. Last but not least, lets not forget distinct and satisfying sound of a pump action shotgun being racked.

" I have owned a few different airsoft shotguns in my time in the hobby and I had been pretty displeased with them up until I bought this TM M870 gas shotty.
First and foremost the build quality of this shotgun is AMAZING as most Tokyo Marui replicas are. The click clack when you rack the pump is so satisfying that it makes the extra 150 or so dollars ( Compared to the cheaper Jag Arms and Golden Eagle gas shotguns) spent on this gun seem like nothing. The faux wood is so well done that I will not even consider replacing it. I have felt the real wood used in the cheaper version M870s and other than the slightly more realistic weight it definitely doesn't look as good as the simulated TM furniture. The metal reciever and barrel are solid and the tolerances are much tighter than the cheaper options.
Internally the performance is just the icing on the cake. It can shoot either 3 shots or 6 with each trigger pull and with .25gram bbs 100ft shots are no problem. The gun chronos at a little over 320fps with .20s which is perfect for indoor CQB limits. I'm actually willing to bet that with a full tank of gas and the right conditions with. 25s the gun can hang with most mid tier AEGs range and accuracy wise. (130-150ft effective range) When most spring shotguns and cheap gas models are pretty much limited to CQB style of gameplay the TM M870 can definitely be used for outdoor games. The hopup has that magic TM fairy dust that just lofts your bbs so ridiculously straight and far that it makes anything less look like a cheap Wal-Mart or Amazon Springer.
Overall if you are in the market for an airsoft shotgun and you have the money to treat yourself to a replica that you will definitely pay a little more for but will be of much higher quality and out perform everything else in its class, Then this is the gun for you.
You can typically expect to get about 8-10 shells worth of shots with each gas fill. I usually leave it on 6 bbs because its that much more satisfying knowing that you have 6 rounds flying at your target instead of the basic 3. I love this gun and I am definitely an even bigger TM fan because of how good this gun is. PERFECT 10/10 from me.
" Well I've had this gun for about two years now. I just used it April first 2017 for about five hours straight. This is a great gun. The six shot spread is awesome. Great metal body. But it does have a few cons. First one is the hop up. It works great for a while but then it goes away. You lose range but not power. The gas tanks we start to leak with green gas. I found its best to use gorilla glue to seal the leaks. I did it one time and never had a problem ever again. The last thing is you will have to buy the metal up grades. Especially the loading arm. It we brake. But once everything has been taken care of the gun is awesome. Great for cqb. Just know that you are going to run into some issues.
