VFC has really gone above and beyond in recreating what most would argue to be the best and most accurate SCAR in the airsoft industry. The upper receiver is expertly CNC machined out of a single block of high strength aluminum for exceptional durability and also features fully licensed trademarks that are beautifully laser etched into the receiver for authenticity.
The internals feature reinforced high performance parts to ensure uncompromised reliability and performance out of the box. VFCs full metal version 2 reinforced gearboxes come standard with CNC steel gears and their spring auto-shim system that reduces the need to shim the gearbox to achieve optimum performance. The upgraded spring guide, light weight polycarbonate piston and airtight cylinder allow the gun to stand out as a solid contender amongst the best that airsoft has to offer.
About the FN SCAR: The Special Operation Forces Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR) was developed by Belgian arms manufacturer FN Herstal (FNH) as a reliable, low maintenance, modular combat rifle for the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to replace the tried and true M4A1 carbine used by Special Forces units across various branches of the US Military.
The FN SCAR features ambidextrous controls such as an ambi selector and mag release as well as a reversible charging handle allowing the operator to configure the rifle to their preference. The CNC one piece upper receiver features an uninterrupted Picatinny top rail with two removable side rails and a bottom rail to mount any MIL-STD-1913/Picatinny accessories. The high strength polymer lower receiver helps cut down on the over-all weight of the rifle while still maintaining most of the controls of the already familiar M4/M16 system. The telescoping, folding stock allows the rifle to be fully adjustable for length of pull to accommodate any operator. With the stock folded, the SCAR offers a significantly lower profile than even the M4A1 allowing for easy storage and transportation.

" This gun is great! This was my first Airsoft gun and it shoots and feels very good. Here are a few pros and cons of this gun.
Pros:
Ambi selector and mag release
Working charging handle with release
Good fps out of the box (too good for my field)
Very adjustable stock (foldable, cheek riser, extender)
Great irons that work well with full mask
Very sturdy monolithic upper and stock dosent wiggle
Very well balanced with all attachments and batteries
Stock has a lot of room
Easy to take off orange tip ( use boiling water) (neg thread)
Hop up is good
Pre shimmed gears
Decent full auto
No wires to stock there is ring wires connecting
Good trigger response on 11.1 lipo
Cons:
Fairly difficult to get into gearbox. Vid by black sheep762 good
Also difficult to get in because of really small hex screw
No mosfet (it’s an older gun what did u expect)
Thing that holds pin in stock is really easy to lose(totally not me)
Tips:
When getting into gearbox, selector thing dosent have pin like tutorial just mallet it out with a pin (really hard)
Conclusion:
Gun is preforms very well out of the box with very good quality vfc externals but customizing the inside is fairly difficult but doable with good tutorials. (recommend blacksheep762 full disassembly and assembly)
" TL;DR: SCAR gud, the stock is meh, should buy
Fantastic gun. Relatively easy to get into. It’s like an M4 with a folding stock. Would recommend a matrix 9.6v if you like lasers.
Pros:
Good weight- Hefty enough to be realistic, light enough to be very effective.
Shoots 350 fps- (though some consider this a con, I consider this a pro because it can be used indoors.
Folding stock-self explanatory
Internals- fantastic stock, I don’t plan to upgrade it any time soon. It’s accurate and with the battery I use it’s got some nice range
Externals- so realistic, me and my friend who has the SCAR-H have gotten
Cons:
Stock- when it comes to the cons, most would be in the stock; polymer isn’t the best, the extension lever/button is pretty stiff, and the pin on the butt-pad is hard to put in when there is a battery. The pin doesn’t stay in well, but that at least eliminates the problem once you lose it.
Bolt catch- mine broke after about 20 racks, but it’s not necessary to the mechanical/electrical function of the gun so whatever
Maintenance- the upper and lower are held together by a pin in front of the Magwell, it can be incredibly difficult to get out. It needs a hammer. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to do this.
Price- you could get a similar performance on a cheaper M4. I like what I got, I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.
In conclusion: this is a fantastic intermediate gun for Milsm and outdoor and I don’t doubt it would shred indoor. Just wish the stock was a little better.
" This gun is beautiful first of all. The build really is good quality and you can feel it. There’s no really play in anything and the weight is very authentic. I’ve had mine for close to 2 months now and here’s some corks I’ve dealt with along the way.
-battery= I read some much hit and miss information on what lipos I could use on this gun. Some people said only 7.4. Some people said 11.1 so I went straight to the source and contacted VFC directly and this was their response.
**11.1V LIPO is fine for all VFC AEGs, however most models are come with safety fuse or MOSFET wiring system, please do not use batteries both high in C rating and capacity.
Please check the C rating multiplied with capacity(mAh) is lower than 25000 or the fuse and chip may damage, thank you.**
Pretty much sums it up. I’ve been running an 11.1/1,200mah20c battery with fantastic luck.
PROS
-BEAUTIFUL gun
-very durable
-near full length inner barrel that’s supported at the end with zero play
-good firing rate on 7.4V, even better on 11.1
-shoots hot! 390’s FPS w/.28’s
CONS
-sometimes will try to double feed with some of my M4 mags causing sporadic shots or a bb to fall out of the barrel.
-firing selector switch is a bit “cheap feeling” I wish it had a stronger detent.
