"SR30 review – update from 12/21/2021. Owned about ~4 years now.

While this replica is still amazing, there are a couple issues I’ve experienced in the 5 years of ownership. These are issues that I haven’t experienced with other replicas so I consider them a fault rather than wear and tear. Other than the few issues listed below, this is my main rifle on the field and is pretty reliable. I’ve probably fired over 75,000 BBs out of it. I recommend using .32g for the most range, and the hop up has no issue hopping those BBs. It is very easy to fit an 11.1 Tian 3000mah in the stock. The sector gear is short stroked 3 teeth.

1) The spring was installed backwards and only shot 1.04 joule out of the box. I did a routine cleaning about 2 years in, and noticed the spring was in the wrong way. You can tell by where the end is tightly coiled on the spring. After fixing, it shoots around 1.33 joules which is a huge improvement. I should have opened it up sooner.

2) The G&G G2 ETU is absolute garbage. I’ve had to replace it TWICE. While it is cool that the replica does not fire when a magazine is missing, the part is extremely exposed to dirt/grime from the magazine and breaks. I recommend replacing it with a Perun V2 Rear Wired mosfet. This is my biggest gripe because installing a more reliable MOSFET is not something someone should have to do. It should definitely not break TWICE in 4 years.

3) The tappet plate return spring broke during a game. Easy fix, the springs are cheap, but it requires taking the entire replica apart which is a huge pain. If anything, this is the only point that should count as “wear and tear” because the spring constantly stretched and retracted about 50,000 fire cycles before breaking.

4) The quick change spring is an absolute lie. It’s not like Specna Arms in which you can swap PURELY from the stock with zero actually disassembly. You have to take the entire gearbox out, and at that point, you’ve pretty much disassembled the entire thing anyway.

"I own both versions love both versions they have snappy triggers out the box and good hop ups units and a solid metal bodies, I do recommend a 6.03 inner barrel upgrade on the SR-15 because it's an outdoor gun (don't really need to on the SR-30 because it's an indoor but I did it anyway, it's a 247mm not 240mm) and if you want a simple upgrade to up your game even more get the perun etu++ for g&g gearboxes.
