WWII collector? Looking to build your own Storm Trooper E-11 blaster? This is the most realistic Sterling replica in history with a high performance lipo ready 9mm gearbox!
The Sterling L2A1 features full steel construction, realistic welding, superb detail, and a high performance 9mm lipoly ready metal gearbox. The manufacturer has done an exceptional job at recreating this 1 to 1 scale replica as an AEG. The gun boasts a noticeable heft in its overall weight. The entire AEG feels rugged and sturdy and features excellent attention to detail to make this replica as accurate to its real counterpart as possible; including its very unique folding stock. This is a great weapon for any collector, re-enactor, or cosplayer who is looking for the most accurate reproduction available.
The most notable and possibly most famous use of the Sterling sub-machine gun was in the original Star Wars films by Lucas Arts. Used as a base gun and then modified with various props, the Sterling L2A1 eventually inspired the BlasTech E-11 Blaster Rifle used across the Galaxy and issued to Imperial Stormtroopers.
While the Sterling L2A1 sub-machine gun was not a widely known or used weapon during World War II, it was still seen as a significantly improved weapon over the Sten sub-machine gun used by British infantry. The stamped steel weapon was submitted for trials to replace the Sten in early 1944 and soon found its way into select airborne units towards the end of the war. The Sterling was a far superior weapon boasting greatly improved accuracy and reliability as well as being incredibly light weight and compact thanks to its unique folding stock. The weapon remained in use up until it was phased out in 1987 by the introduction of the L85A1 assault rifle.Length:

"One of the reasons I started airsoft was to own guns I'd never be able to otherwise. This gun is one of them - it was the British upgrade to the crude unreliable Sten and the designers seemed to have done much more then correct the flaws in the original. The folding stock is well designed, the gun-in-a-pipe design works ergonomically and visually, and is one of the most compact submachine guns in existence. The British used a few in WW2, but not many, as it wasn't in mass production until after the war - and the gun was used by the British in their colonial wars in Aden, Suez conflict, the Mau Mau wars in Kenya, Northern Ireland, everywhere British troops were sent this gun went right along with them.
Anyway,. this gun does the original design justice. Materials and workmanship are first class, the tube is all metal and only the hand grip is plastic, but the gun is so solid you barely notice. With stock folded it is less then 2' long so fits almost anywhere. For such a short barrel the bb power is surprisingly strong, function on full and semi is also very smooth - although you run the mag empty in no time.
This is a great gun, well made and decently powerful, not to mention eye catching. Evike has it the cheapest I have seen anywhere, by a long way. If this were the only airsoft gun i owned i'd be fine with that.
- eye catching appearance
- folding stock (although it's tricky to figure out and there are no instructions with it)
- compact and powerful for its size
- comes lipo ready (but no battery or charger
- No instructions or accessories come with it
- optics and drum mags are impossible
- tracer units or lights also not possible
- spare mags difficult, but not impossible to find
- goes through loaded mags with shocking speed
"I’m gonna start off by saying, my sterling broke(sort of) as soon as I received it. I put the battery in, slapped a mag in and it immeadiately jammed. I thought it wasnt feeding so I pulled the mag out and put it back in and tried to shoot it again and that just made things worse. I have no idea how to field strip this thing, so unfortunately I tried to fix it myself, thus voiding the warranty. Ive yet to send it in for repairs so I havent gotten to play with it. Besides that, the metal body is so nice. The folding stock is freaking awesome and it just feels so right holding it. Mags are really cheap but dont fit in my smg pouches. They are a little wide. Accesing the battery is easy too, just need a small brick lipo. Once I send my sterling in for repair I will update with a new review.
"Good SMG, I’d say the only problems with this gun are:
Small battery casing ( Fix would be to increase the guns length)
No scope or accessory rails
No hi cap magazine
