"Pretty good out of the box. Shoot's a little too slow for my taste but otherwise it's fantastic.

"Recieved this in a BoA, I didn't exactly have high hopes for it but I didn't mind as it was basically the secondary airsoft gun in the box.

In all fairness, I want to give it three stars after disassembling it, but I feel a 4 star review is fair considering the out of box stock performance for the MSRP price tag.

I didn't field it with stock internals, I have a short range in my back yard of a little over 50ft.

With stock internals, out of the box, I was able to consistently hit popper targets at that 50ft mark. I know 50ft is close for a sniper, but I figure fudging a bit considering the size of the popper targets it speaks to the grouping accuracy at longer ranges.

Had a pretty consistent 375fps with .25s(Didn't have any .2s on hand.)

For $110 this isn't a bad starter sniper rifle, but if you don't plan to upgrade it I would save up for something with beefier internals.

So now let's talk about internals. I had a bunch of spare VSR-10 parts sitting around from other builds and figured I'd upgrade it as I read it was 100% vsr-10 compatible despite other places saying it wasn't. Fair warning, it is not.

Stock internals are pretty lack luster, it's definitely a rifle you want to upgrade as you go. The most notable bits of disappointment were a plastic spring guide and plastic piston that just feel cheap. The trigger assembly was solid, but it's 45 degree(as is the piston,) so if you start upgrading the spring all three of those parts will need to be upgraded if you take your spring strength too high.

The hop up was your standard VSR-10 hop up, though I'd note that the nubs on the arm didn't look like they would do a very good job. If you don't plan to change out the hop up entirely, I'd at least replace the arm with something better. The bucking should definitely be replaced for something better considering how cheap it is to get a nice bucking.

Anyways - on to compatability!

I attempted to throw an Action Army hop up(that pretty red one) in first thing - unfortunately the holes wouldn't align with the SR40 hop up block, I shaved down the parts on the block with a dremel to get them to line up, even after that I then had issues the screw that attached the stock to the block. Can you get it to work? Probably, but you need to be really into drilling holes and shaving things down.

Other than that, however, I did manage to install an AA 90 degree trigger, AA 90 degree piston, threw in an m150 spring, metal spring guide, and AA bolt cylinder, maple leaf decepticon bucking.

So largely this thing is VSR-10 compatible. I'd take care when choosing a Hop-Up replacement(I plan to try to the Maple Leaf one soon and see how that fits) also, the trigger guard mounts different than your standard VSR-10. I know that's not often an immediate upgrade but if you need a larger trigger guard for whatever reason this rifle might not be the best option.
