Matrix M18A1 Claymore Airsoft Anti-Personnel Mine w/ Trip Wire and Remote Clacker

"The claymore is fun to use. Does not hold a lot of bbs, but it does throw them over 10 feet if angled correctly. The remote works fine though I have not tested the range of it yet. All in all I am happy with the product.

"This directional launcher works quite well for it's price, but it has a few glaring issues...
Firstly, the Mine itself is only effective from five to fifteen feet. This varies, as the launch method isn't entirely reliable.
Secondly, the Claymore is made of relatively sturdy, but still breakable plastic.
Lastly, and the directional launcher's biggest issue, is it requires some home (if basic) modification to be effective. For a start, the trip wire mechanism will tangle around the leg or body of the individual that trips it. This means the mine is going to be tugged over, hitting the ground and being dragged around in the moment of confusion that follows the mines detonation. For another problem, the design of the space meant to hold the BBs for launching is flawed and open to say the least. This means the BBs will fall into the claymore's spring mechanism when loaded, meaning more than half the payload of BBs won't launch, but will be stuck within the claymore mechanisms.
To fix these, and to make your mine a generally easy to use, quick deploy gadget, it doesn't take much home improvement.
For the tripwire, I used a rubber coated paperclip, a regular paperclip and a rubber band. The rubber parts don't slide across each other, but the regular metal slides off the rubber, making it so that your tripwire has enough resistance to fire, and detach afterwards.
For the loading area and BB leak into the mechanism, I super glued a piece of lego ( 2 x 1, amazing right?) into the bottom gap where the BBs leak, making them sit in a decently spread out fashion on the launching area.

All in all, a great tool and utility to have for your slower, trap based airsoft ideals, but it requires some home DIY to function properly.

"The Matrix claymore is pretty decent, easy to reload, reliable safety, good spread of bbs as well. Some things to note about the system is 80% of this thing is plastic, and the action of the claymore is firing is rather violent; this raises concern that the claymore could break under its own use, however this has not happened. The range of the clacker is very good and reliable the signal goes through walls easily. Remember to take out the safety pin to prime it or youll feel silly when youre buddy rushes you and doesnt get hit by the claymore because it didnt fire.
The Claymore works the best when mounted in dirt. if its not secure itll fall over when it fires however the action is fast enough so itll still fire all the bbs where you aimed at, and then itll fall over. Over all good product, instills fear into your opponents just by knowing its somewhere on the field
