"This thing is amazing. It has a nice real weight to it without being overly heavy, it feels great in the hands, and the rail system is metal too! It's got plenty of M-Lok space for attachments given the platform size, and if you need an even smaller package you can fold the stock right to the body. And it sticks by magnets so it's not going anywhere. It doesn't stutter hardly at all when on full auto (provided the magazine is full of gas), and it's got amazing FPS and RPS.

The only gripe I really have about this is the fire selection, it's a button that you have to press to one side or the other near the top of the weapon. And I may just have small hands but I find it impossible to change from semi to full auto without completely breaking my grip and taking a second or two pressing the button.

But that being said, I have exactly zero other negative things to say about this gun! 9.5/10. Oh and if I didn't mention, not only does it come with a QD sling mounting point, it actually comes with the swivel mount too, which more guns need to do.

"It’s a good gun and lots of fun. But there are things to note.

First off, the SMC9 is almost entirely made of proprietary parts. You won’t be able to swap for a new inner barrel, for example. Standard barrels won’t be compatible. So know that your upgrade options for this gun are extremely limited as far as internals. Secondly, the inline stock makes aiming while wearing face protection very cumbersome. You WILL need a riser mount for a sight if you’re wearing a mask, otherwise you will be hardly (if at all) able to aim the gun.

And now to the good stuff.

The gun over-performs for its size and weight. It’s extremely light, compact and well balanced, and despite this, its accuracy is impressive. There is an inner barrel stabilizer sold on this website if you want to up the accuracy even further, but in the situations where you’ll likely be using this gun, you won’t need to be so accurate that that attachment makes much difference. Being that the gun breaks down into a carbine kit upper and GTP9 lower, the amount of flex and play of the SMC9 fully assembled is beyond impressive. You’d be forgiven for thinking you can’t remove the pistol lower in about two seconds, because the gun doesn’t creak or wobble at all when assembled. The fitting is top notch. Gas efficiency is about two mags per gas fill in 70°, and slightly less when using full auto. Mag dumping will rapidly cool down the mag and your FPS/range will plummet if you try to refill immediately, so be sure to let your mags warm up before reuse. FPS hovers around 360-365 for me, so not as hot as this site claims (although this varies a tad from gun to gun, as is the case with all airsoft guns, so bear that in mind).

For what this gun is, I’d give it a strong 9 out of 10.
