"I’m just over a year of ownership with mine and I am still very very satisfied. I’ve changed the stock with a stubby m4 stock and have changed the flash hider to a tracer unit. This is my go-to m4 style rifle and would definitely recommend to anyone!

"If you are thinking about this gun do it!!! Best CQB gun out, the feels so good with the full metal.

"My favorite CQB gun in my arsenal. Getting the orange tip off is a major pain. But once it's removed, adding the G&G UVT-101 makes this gun look clean and works great.

"If youre looking for a short weapon for CQB, that has room for upgrades, youve just found it. The ETU is snappy, 3 round burst is oodles of fun, and you cant beat a full metal body. The ARP9 is since, but having to buy a full mag set just to have it is a downside (not to mention the polymer parts). The 556 eliminates all this issues. Full metal, takes 95% of the 556/m4 mags on the market. After flat hopping and putting in a prometheus barrel, this thing reaches 200 feet easily. Next upgrade for me is a set of DSG gears. This is a lovely switch up from my Krytac and I honestly couldn't suggest a more affordable starter weapon. 10/10

"Ok so I was looking for a back pack gun.... well I definitely found it. Trigger response is ridiculous good. Rate of fire is very good. Great for CQB fields or a ARP while running a sniper rifle. G&G warrenty is always nice as well. If you are looking for a cqb style weapon.... you will not be disappointed.

"A most excellent purchase. Shoots FAR and STRAIGHT, although I flat hopped and replaced the hop unit with a MAXX Model TE Pro prior to ever shooting it. Surprisingly heavy for its size, which is great. The separately available stock extension unit is a must though as battery space is minimal.

As it is a generic build it seems to be compatible with standard M4/v2/MLOK/Pic-rail accessories and upgrade. Looking forward to replacing the perfectly acceptable ETU with a Gate Titan in the near future.

"Just Picked up one of these Bad boys yesterday at my local outdoor field and let me just say as a guy who has been affectionately running his beloved Krytac Lvoa-s this gun is quite the breath of fresh air. First of all its like if pretty pdw and a really strong M4 had a kid together like for real that's the best way to describe it. Very accurate out of the box, takes most standard m4 Mags (WORKS AMAZING WITH PTS EPM MAGS!) Its very fieldable in the way of its compact and allows you to peak really quick. All in all its totally worth the price tag and I highly recommend you purchase the buffer tube extender cause unless you have T-Rex arms you will never need to use that setting. Only con I found with this gun is the battery space but even then you can still work with it and last but not least it has a really really really snappy fire rate on semi like people were asking me if they could give it a try. 10/10

"Great CQB gun. No need for internal upgrades. I use .28 Krytac bb's and this gun drives nails at 305 fps: 11.1 lipo. I would recommend a riser for optics. It's hard to get your cheek on the stock. Very small battery space(lots of wires).

Good:
ROF
durable
size
range
feel

Bad:
battery space
Bulky buffer tube

"Get a battery that's no more than 130mm long. Or be ready to mod. This detail needs to be in the description. But everything else is as advertised. Good ROF, great feel. Heavy duty M lock.

"Just used this for the first time in a game and holy cow the thing is a beast. shot absolute laser with .25s in it. still scan reach out and touch people while being tight and compact for CQB

The only thing I found interesting is that it would not feed KWA 120 mags very well. Evike 140s fed flawlessly

"I bought my ARP 556 off AirsoftGi about a month ago, and here's my review. First, the battery space is tight as most buffer tubes are. I bought a li-po battery from hobby king, dimensions are 101x20x11mm. Still tight, but doesn't go out the buffer tube. In fact, probably could fit a slightly larger battery if necessary. Stock has very little wobble for a PDW design, to the point where I don't mind. it's a bit small to shoulder, but the trade off is fine, because it's very compact and feels solid.

The barrel feels nice to hold, the edges are nice and smooth, and weight distribution is good. If you don't like the muzzle decoration, don't count on changing it because it's on really tight, and I have no idea on what tool it would need (not that I want to change it, but...). I put on Magpul Rail covers, and it feels sweet.

Mag compatibility: fits PTS EPMs but can be tight, Ares mags as well. VFC mags don't work, and the included hi-cap mag is nice.

The gun fires nice, but very whiny. Need's shimming, but works fine even without work on the internals. Chronoed it on .28g bb's, and was about 350 fps consistently, but I couldn't get a very accurate chrono because the bb's somehow got mixed with .23 's. Either way, fine gun for $300.

I would recommend this gun for anyone starting their first gun. It's an m4, can be modified easily, and the Mosfet and ETU will extend it's life for a long time. If you're going to upgrade, it's solid body won't break before the gearbox does. I haven't opened it up, and don't plan to because besides the noise, the performance is great, so I plan to run it till it breaks and work from there.

If you plan to gut the gun and replace all the internals, I think that this gun isn't the one for that. If you want the aesthetics- then by all means, but otherwise spend the $300 on a cheaper gun. The included mosfet and etu are better off replaced with a more expensive unit anyway.

For those who are wondering if it can be used in outdoor games, I'd say yes it can. Obviously it's also usable in cqb, so it's an all-rounder.

Final thoughts: It's so cool! the M-Lok handguard is solid (in fact it's too solid and I can't take it off) and is very pretty. The gun is worth it. Also, as a bonus the selector comes without painting, so you can have fun painting it yourself, if that's something you like.

Side note, if you want to use a sling, there is not much on the stock to mount on. There's a hole at the base of the buffer tube that a hook could fit. I bought a HIT sling from Advanced Gunslinger Armament, with a hook and qd pin, and bought an M-Lok qd mount. Looking back, should of got a rail qd mount, because you only have 4 M-Lok slots, plus 2 on the bottom. If you want any side rail attachments for a tacticool build, like a cqb flash light/laser combo and/ or rail covers, get a rail qd mount (assuming you get one at all). Any sling mount should work (smaller hooks probably fit too), but it also looks like a part that might break under stress.

Oh, and the burst mode is great too. Want to shoot in volleys of 3 but can't manage the pull? Then the ARP556 is the gun to get (unless you can afford any mosfet that handles burst...)
