"Absolutely awesome gun! The way it feels, so sturdy and high end, the metal, the way it shoots, the weight… I just couldn’t be happier. I was deciding between this and krytac and I thank myself for spending the extra money on this one. Straight out of the box shooting at 385 fps.

"Love this gun. Despite it's cons, it's still a 5 star gun. The only thing I've done to it was wire it to deans, and put an rhopped ZCI 6.02 barrel in it, and a Modify Ryusoko flat hop bucking and nub, this brought the FPS to 398 ±1 with .2g bbs.

I haven't run into the issue that some other people have had with over cycling when using LiPo's, and neither has my friend that has the same gun. Maybe they've fixed this issue with recent builds? I'm not sure.

Pros
- Very light
- Lots of battery space
- All metal, good internals
- I like the integrated QD Sling mount
- Trigger response is good

There's honestly many more great things about this gun, but they've all either already been mentioned in the other reviews, or they're obvious by reading the description or looking at the gun.

Cons
- The stock is a pretty loose, I may be able to fix this with some shimming
- When I pull back on the charging handle, the dust cover doesn't open by itself, I have to help it a little bit with my fingernail. I think the mechanism is defective in mine, there's a little plastic nub inside that doesn't quite catch the dust cover latch. This may be a fluke because my friend has the same gun and his doesn't have this issue
- It's pretty picky with mags. I have yet to find one that I don't have to forcefully push into the magwell to get it to latch
- If you change the bucking, know that the hop up housing is VERY tight. This is good for air seal, but it's tight to the point it's hard to get the bucking installed without tearing it, this is even with lubricating the outside with a couple drops of silicone oil.
- The flash hider is just obnoxious, it's hideous. It's quite difficult to remove too. Just be patient with a heat gun and it will eventually come off, there's just a lot of glue. I can't comment on the amplifying properties because I didn't even shoot the gun before taking it off. At the time of writing this review, I have modeled and 3d printed the original flash hider in black, it looks much better. I still have some testing and some small changes to make but will be uploading it to Thingiverse.
- The MOSFET catches on the inside of the buffer tube when extending the stock. If you aren't careful when extending it or you could damage the MOSFET or wiring harness. Just gotta be careful.

"This gun is the best gun you can buy off the market out of the box, my friends have Krytac’s and every other gun out there and I thank myself every time I try shooting theirs for buying the Avalon. I bought a G&g green bucking and a Prometheus barrel and the gun shoots lasers farther than anyone else’s. 10/10 would recommend

"Very good shooting gun. As everyone has said in reviews on youtube; it is light, shoots quickly and accurately, and has great versatility.

However, there is the small gap between the upper and lower receiver that is odd. I also live in an area with other homes nearby and the orange tipped sound enhancing flash hider combined with a pretty whiny sounding gearbox leads to an annoying loud airsoft gun (just personal opinion--can always find a way to replace). I also noticed that after setting the gun down on a metal stand a few times that the paint is easy to come off on the edges of the handrail (aluminum color below).

All in all I highly recommend the gun.

"First I want to say that I’m a paintball player getting into airsoft, so the consistency of using hpa in my weapons is imperative. Therefore the length of time I spent testing this weapon’s performance with its gearbox was very short but nonetheless it functioned beautiful straight out of the box. I wanted to find a weapon that was formidable on the field regardless of any distance or combat situation. It needed to perform in peak condition rain, snow, or shine and could allow me the advantage to combat anyone at any range. This is something that the saber has achieved for me. Now obviously I have done quite a bit of upgrades to help me achieve such goals in a weapon but far none this vfc is a great platform to start with.

Pros:
-Light weight (6-7lb) which for a full metal construction is very good
-full metal great internals(this is before I hpa tapped it)
-ambidextrous mag release (I’m a lefty so this was huge)
- sleek design for cqb but still more rail space than most PDWs
- hex grip on magazines adds friction for gloves for quick reloads
-easy access for hop up adjustments
- extra space in buttstock for multiple batteries including removable compartments for a nunchuck style 7.4
-nice snap (sound) for every shot , which is useful to determine the difference between shots and dry firing
-incredible customization opportunity ( which if your like me and want to deck out your pew pew, then it’s a very important feature to have versatility and performance)

Cons:
-Mag release is a little stiff (I’m sure mine just might need some lube but it’s stiff nonetheless, that could be a pro or con but for me I would prefer it to be a little easier)
- THE HUGE ORANGE SODA CAN ON THE END OF THIS GUN. I have no idea who had the great idea to put that orange atrocity at the end of this gun but they messed up bad. This thing is metal and glued and has inset screws holding it into place so it’s very difficult to remove yourself. ( I would highly recommend having it removed by a professional)
-m-lok rails are a bit harder to find attachments that fit so you most likely will need rail adapters
-the price could be a little cheaper but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for and I can say this was a wonderful purchase regardless

In conclusion, this is a splendid weapon and was a great investment for me personally. I wanted one gun that I could make superior in every way and this gun definitely fits the bill.
This was my first airsoft gun so I can’t speak for a whole lot of other weapons, but to me that was the purpose of choosing this weapon for me. I wanted something that I could use and invest in for years and not have to worry about anything else, and that’s what vfc has delivered. Definitely won’t regret this purchase.

"I got this gun for my girlfriend who likes to come play with me, and I have to say it is amazing. It equals my $435 Krytac Lvoa in range, and shoots faster in full-auto as well.

It does have a few cosmetic drawbacks that I've found are universal on this gun, as I have friends who have the same gun and have the same issues. For one the stock is extremely loose on the stock mount, It wiggled side to side a lot until removed it and applied several thin layers of epoxy and then sanded them smooth until it was more snug. Even then it still wiggles forward and back constantly because the bolt is about 2 millimeters smaller in diameter then the slots that the bolt goes into when adjusting stock length. The other issue is the fire selector, the right side selector is extremely wiggly to the point where when I first got it, I thought it might be broken. Then i read reviews and saw my friend's is the same way.

Overall thought I give this gun 5 stars because:
1. Its EXTREMELY LIGHT, while still full metal
2. Shoots faster than my LVOA
3. Matches my LVOA(which has a prometheus r-hop barrel) in range
4. Is extremely accurate

My next gun will most likely be one of these

"Okay, I absolutely love this gun.

I spent probably 3 months figuring out what "high-end" AEG I wanted to invest in. It was this or Krytac Trident; my budget was ~ $380. Why I got this over the Krytac, you ask? I (personally) love the ergonomics of this gun. Each of its features are useful and productive in use of the gun and no space on this gun is wasting your time. It feels absolutely amazing and look absolutely amazing; I think Krytac's guns are blocky and big (personal preference).

What I use it for: indoor cqb & mid to long range outdoor play. I shoot .25g bb's and this thing has awesome distance in comparison to other AEG's I've shot (you could use .28g if you are working with a longer barrel; the hop up can totally handle it). I use a red dot sight and it is enough. Sometimes when I am playing outdoors I wish I had a 4x. I use a 7.4v lipo and it works perfect (also fits no problem in the stock).

How I have modified the gun: I put a new hop-up bucking; this has increased range and tightened grouping. I have a mock suppressor that allows me to have a 420mm tight bore inner barrel (180mm more than stock barrel) and I get crazy distance and accuracy now; I highly suggest this, it gives this gun a DMR feel hahaha!

Pros:
- lightweight
- AMAZING out of the box performance
- very easy to "crack open" and adjust spring, gears, motor, etc.
- very very clean look.
- has mil spec M-Lok (not the crap "airsoft spec" m-lok).
- very large amount of battery space (in stock and buffer tube).
- ambi
- click into place hop up unit (very helpful)
- very strong motor
- sounds very aggressive with an amplifier
- its a VFC
- effective MOSFET
- great one point sling mount
- full auto is aggressive, but contained and effective.
- very responsive trigger

Cons:
- shoots two or three times sometimes in semi
- left side of fire selector switch is stiff (even with loosening)
- stock muzzle device is freaking ugly and definitely needs to immediately be removed.
- mags have to be forcibly secured into the gun (maybe a "me" issue, i'm being a baby).
- I wish firing was programmable.

Conclusion: This gun is PHENOMENAL out of the box and can compete at any level, on any field. I am extremely happy to support VFC, as they make amazing products that can completely compete with Krytac. If you are looking for a gun that needs very little mods to it to make it elite, get this gun. I would buy this again if I was you, reading this post. You won't regret it!

"This gun is fantastic. High performing out of the box. The cons mentioned with this gun were not a big deal for me and still deserves 5 stars in my opinion.

Pros:
-perfect external finish
-high quality internal and external materials
-very tight groupings out of the box
-mosfet
-extremely fast trigger response
-great rate of fire (full auto)
-plenty of battery space

Cons:
-sometimes shoots twice in semi auto when running a freshly charged 11.1 lipo
-selector switch is a little loose even after tightening
-has some trouble firing rapidly in semi auto
-slight motor movement in grip while firing
