"Dial knob in the back is nice. However you definitely want to check the straps because it might be set oddly. This size will fit an average size (or unlisted size) helmet cover. For head size, if you wear 7 5/8 New Era caps this will still work, but you may want to cut your hair a bit. If I grow my hair out, the helmet may not work with a lot of hair in the way. Because my head is a little large, I didn't really find a need to dial it in to cinch on my head.

"This helmet is absolutely wonderful.

For one thing, it's fairly light and can be taken on and off easily; thankfully when it's on your head it fits snugly. Maybe it's because I'm a tall guy with a larger head, but I will say that even without the helmet strapped on; when it's just sitting on my head and is secure, I don't have any problems with looking down at my feet or bending over and then having the helmet fall off of my head. If for some reason the helmet doesn't instantly fit your head (which was the case with me, and I was dangerously close to returning it because of this), there's actually a dial on the piece that sits at the back of your head; I just twisted it all the way and it widened the strap so my head could fit in it, and now it fits like a glove. As such, you're able to adjust the size depending on the size of the wearer's head.

Getting the band of goggles around this thing is absolutely impossible though I'm almost certain that it's just the goggles that I'm wearing. Naturally, if you have goggles that have an adjustable elastic band or that are designed to be wrapped around PASGT or MICH helmets, then you won't have any issues with it.

Coloring-wise, I will say that this helmet is actually much darker in color than the one that's pictured on the sight, so this is more of a brown desert stone color than desert sand, if that makes sense. Keep that in mind before you try to match it with a bright-colored tan vest or shirt or pants or something.

An important detail is that cloth helmet covers do work on this thing, but you need covers rated for MICHs (Modular Integrated Communications Helmet, which is what this thing is). I used this one (https://www.evike.com/products/32139/), sold here on Evike.com; I picked that specific one just because the ACU digital pattern matches my vest and pants but you can use any of them that's rated for MICHs.

To get them on (because I couldn't find this out online, I'm sharing it here), you have to unscrew the night vision goggle mount and the side rails in order for the thing to fit on (oddly enough, with the one I bought I actually had to mount it on backwards for it to fit); once it's one you can just screw the rail mounts and NVG mount back onto the helmet and you get a stylish cloth cover AND modular rails for putting things like GoPro cases and headlamps/flashlights on.

If you're looking for a great middle ground that combines the classic look of Gulf War-era PASGT helmets (the MICH is a derivative of PASGT) with the practicality of FAST helmets, then look no further. This thing has a price tag on it but it's totally worth it.
