King Arms CO2 Powered Gas Blowback M1A1 - Paratrooper Model

"Immensely fun, very beautiful replica of a late-war M1A1 Carbine.

Pros.
15 round magazines can be easily modified for 23 rounds.
Full blowback, feels close to a real M1 Carbine.
Light. Very light. The magazine might weigh as much as the rest of the gun light.
VERY large pistol grip. I've always preferred large grips, but if it's too large it can be filed down.
Can shoot .40g BBs at about the same range as the average AEG, with much greater accuracy.
The bayonet and barrel sleeve can be easily removed for an earlier war look.
You will need to find an early war rear sight for the complete look though.

Cons.
Front sight can come off unexpectedly. Lost it on my first match, and can't find replacements.
Top handguard panel is a little loose. Not a big deal, and isn't going to fall off, but a little annoying

Stock doesn't click, and takes a bit to get used to.
I have not had mags leak at all. Placing a tiny bit of silicon oil on the tip of the CO2 cartridge before you put it in will massively help with leaking and wear damage.
Mags lasted roughly 60 shots in 60-65f degree weather.
Very fieldable. Doesn't have the RoF of AEGs, but it has outstanding accuracy, and is lighter/easier in the hands than most AEGs.
My only other real wood gun having been a CYMA Norinco AK replica, the wood finish on this one is beautiful.

I would like to bump a star off for the front sight falling off, but honestly I should have checked it after I took the orange tip off...
Perhaps in a few years my opinion will change, but after a couple matches this will probably become my main, just out of the sheer joy of shooting it. That, and the accuracy is impeccable with .40 bbs.

"One of the coolest co2 power rifles I ever wanted!

This is great for my WWII paratrooper reenactment gear.

Like the folding stock and how compacted it is.

Same rifle that 'Donald malarkey, warren muck and george Luz used in the miniseries Band of Brothers.

Shoots accurate with .20g and .25g biodegradable bbs.

Love this rifle!

"This rifle is functionally fantastic, cosmetically OK, and practically useless, but it makes a fantastic prop or reenactment weapon. I got this for Christmas and was very impressed with how sturdy it was. I loaded a Co2 capsule into the mag and fired it flawlessly, then it was time to take the mag out. I already wrote what happened with that on the mag's page. I cut the bayonet lug and sleeve off to make it earlier war, then replaced the sigh with an l-type flip sight to make it even earlier war. That was a but trickier to do, as I needed to carve into the zinc-alloy in order to form a dovetail, but the sight fits in perfectly now. The stock will lose it's firmness after a while which I intent to fix with some washers at the base of the spring in the grip. Overall a fantastic rifle, just with the mags were in stock (and cheaper lol)

"Hi love my m1a1 great weapon and so sturdy..the only problem I found was magazine. When you put a co2 cartridge and lock it down air escapes from bottom of screw..I fixed problem by using plumbers tape on thread of bolt and piece of electrical tape on bottom of bolt where 2 holes are..problem solved..I think king arms should make the magazine better by making an o ring on the bolt and cover those 2 pin holes. Other than that great rifle I own both versions and use them for ww2 airsoft

"Pros:
- Lightweight, the magazines are the heaviest part
- Safety/Mag release is easy to use for lefties like me, use thumb while reloading
- Fires accurately and fast; range is indeterminate as I only have a 20 foot wide back yard
- Bolt has the press-down locking pin to lock it open
- Requires bolt pull to cock the first shot
- Stock folds nicely against the side, however for lefties due to the swing direction the screw must be tightened with a flat head slightly, no big deal
- Uses standard 12G Co2 capsules available from local stores in bulk (40 for $18 at Wal-Mart)
- Accurate magazine size
- Stamped "US CARBINE CAL .30 M1" on the receiver
- Stamped manufacture date on top of receiver behind steel sights
- Adjustable windage
- Stock has holder for oiler pin

Cons:
- $48 dollar proprietary magazines
- Mags won't fit or will be extremely tight in real M1 Carbine magazine pouches, making carrying them in re-enactment realistic pouches a hassle unless you find some that can stretch/are specially made for the airsoft version magazines

I'd recommend this for left-handed shooters. If you're a lefty looking for a good WWII gun, don't buy a Thompson. They're a pain for southpaw usage. Buy this instead. I would know, I have both, and this is my preferred firearm of the two.

"The gun I ordered came with the top portion loose, luckily I am a carpenter so I'll take care of it. Other than that, it's beautiful and definitely worth the money..

"It's construction and look really look the part of the m1a1,unfortunately mine didn't have the cap to screw the co2 in and I have yet to find any replacements or even extra mags

"I have been patiently waiting for this gun for a year, and received it two weeks ago. Unfortunately, I experienced the same issues as the other reviewer with the magazine.

Pros:

- great recreation, wish they modeled the WWII version(no bayonet lug, different hand guard)
- action is similar to the marushin, hopefully more steel less pot metal and they have learned from the issues with Marushin
- accurate with .25 bbs
- all accessories to include the oiler and para sling and scabbard from the original fit perfectly
- Evike customer service, always great they took it back no questions asked. I am hoping the next batch is good

Cons:

- magazines seem to suffer from quality control, immediately would not seal and CO2 would slowly leak at first, then after two mags it would just pierce the CO2 capsule and all the air would exhaust out the bottom through the holes on the cap. Also, the void that the CO2 capsule fits into is too tight, would have to bang on a wood block to get the expended cartridge out. I tried two different manufacturers of CO2 cartridge and both were so tight it was almost impossible to get out. I tried to put silicone oil on the cartridge and it made no difference. Had a potentially dangerous situation where the magazine stopped shooting, I unscrewed the cap and the cartridge launched out.

-$48.00 magazines with such poor quality control, should be $20.00 based on the workmanship. Can't see purchasing many of these which makes it hard to use in a skirmish. These magazines are very heavy, seems like 5lbs.

- my hand guard was not finished well, it overlapped the lower stock by 1/4inch or more, if I kept it I would have sanded it down and filled it.

If you want to skirmish with this gun the low capacity magazine is going to make it difficult. If you ignore the magazine issues, I feel the quality of the internals are better than the Marushin version, if they get the magazine issues resolved it will be a good gun. If you are doing a paratrooper load out it is a must have even with the issues.

"I was looking forward to getting this and it finally arrived. In the end I had to return the rifle back as the magazine was leaky after wasting 4 CO2 capsules. I couldn't figure it out until I compared it to my Marushin M1/M2 CO2 magazines as it seems to be missing an o-ring seal.

Pros:
- nice wood finishes;
- compatible to Marushin M1 CO2 magazines, but NOT the Marushin M2 30rds green gas magazines;
- parts are inter-changeable with the Marushin M1/M2 carbines, but the price really doesn't make it worth as a parts gun for the slightly more expensive Marushin version;

Cons:
- quality of magazines is questionable as mine was missing an specialized CO2 o-ring to create a seal between CO2 capsule and puncture pin. Compared to Marushin M1/M2 CO2 and green gas magazines and noted the difference in seal. I assume mine fell off?
- no extra magazines offerred for sale at Evike.com, and overseas sellers are all sold out;
- no 30rds magazine offered, but Green Gas will not work with this gun as there isn't enough pressure to pull back the bolt cycling.
- re-trackable arm metal pad doesn't close flat as seen on the real one;
- needed a soak of silicone gas for the bolt to "break-in" and cycle the blowback. you will waste a few CO2 capsules to get it cycle completely without jamming or not fully cycling.

Conclusion:
Hopefully, the 2nd carbine sent will have the non-defective magazine. Will confirm again the M2 30rds Marushin magazine whether it'll work or not.

"I am extremely disheartened to say this about this gun as I waited over 2 years for it to be back in stock. After getting excited for it after rewatching Band of Brothers and just really wanting to have it in my collection I was extremely disappointed by how it came. Just on First appearance the gun is extremely dark almost black. To see any wood grain or any bit of of possibly a lighter color than black you'd have to place it in direct light and look at it from an angle. The stock is my second complaint. The stock is supposed to be collapsible but that would infer that it had a fixed position to start with. The stock only moves from side to side wiggling willingly, gives no support. Not sure if it was just the spare magazine that i bought or an issue with the guns compatibility but the 2nd magazine does not lock into place even appearing to be exactly the same as the one that came with it. Over all gun is well built internally, the stock is horrible and the overall look was a disappointment. For the price paid its annoying that it will require work as I doubt I can receive one better built from factory.
