The M1903 Springfield, formally the United States Rifle, Caliber .30-06, Model 1903, is an American clip-loaded, 5-round magazine fed, bolt-action service rifle used primarily during the first half of the 20th century.
It was officially adopted as a United States military bolt-action rifle on June 19, 1903, and saw service in World War I. It was officially replaced as the standard infantry rifle by the faster-firing semi-automatic 8-round M1 Garand starting in 1937. However, the M1903 Springfield remained in service as a standard issue infantry rifle during World War II, since the U.S. entered the war without sufficient M1 rifles to arm all troops. It also remained in service as a sniper rifle during World War II, the Korean War, and even in the early stages of the Vietnam War. It remains popular as a civilian firearm, historical collector's piece, and as a military drill rifle.

The S&T 1903A3 bolt action rifle is an outstanding homage to its real steel cousin. Constructed of metal and mounted to exquisitely crafted wood stock the S&T 1903A3 looks as good as it shoots. With a smooth bolt pull the S&T 1903A3 offers solid performance at a fraction of the price you would pay for other 1903 replicas on the market. When compared to other available 1903s, the spring powered system used in the S&T offers more consistent, reliable and hassle free performance, limiting issues on the battle field.

This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL gun. S&T really went above and beyond by recreating that beautiful wood feel on the 1903.

The entire interior and exterior is either made of real wood or metal, and it has a solid feel.

The thing weighs around 6-7 pounds by my estimation, and it feels great to hold.

The bolt pull back is very manageable (a 6 year old could do it), and the whole process of firing the gun feels very sturdy, which I like.

Accurate advertised FPS with .20g BBs. I've been shooting .25s recently and I hit around 360ish.

The magazine system. Now, I haven't had as many problems as other people were talking about in their reviews of the M1903, but I did however have some loading issues.

Nothing unmanageable though, out of a 20 round magazine, I'll probably have 1-2 false fires where the BB gets misplaced and misses the barrel. How to get the BB out is to pull the bolt all the way back, and to turn the gun upside and give it a little shake, then turn the bolt back inside and the BB should be chambered at that point.

The magazine is plastic. Small pet peeve of mine, but the pure beauty of the gun is enough for me to overlook this.

The trigger lock. Over time, the back of the bolt will get looser and looser, and I wasn't able to even pull the trigger anymore without physically pushing the back of the bolt down to push down the trigger lock to deactivate it. I took the thing apart and looked at the trigger lock mechanism, and took out that lock entirely as it made it so I couldn't even fire the damn thing. It's fixed now, so I can overlook this as well.

The rear sight adjustment came to me broken. It looks like the turn wheel is supposed to be metal glued to the end of the screw, and for some reason mine wasn''t. I still kept all the pieces, so once I get some metal glue I should be able to fix that pretty quickly.

Little modification potential. This is a proprietary system by S&T and that eliminates a lot of beautiful mods that could be done to this.

This one is VERY petty, but the strap loops are too small on the back, and they're really loose. Whenever I walked around with the thing I would hear them clank against the wood, and it would irritate me. I had to zip-tie them down, as I don't use a strap with this rifle.

Overall, this is a beautiful gun. I wouldn't recommend this gun for someone who isn't a problem solver, as S&T really chose aesthetic beauty in compromise for flawless execution of the rifle.

For me, it was only a couple problems that were rather simple to fix, but irritating.

Taking the trigger mechanism apart and trying to get all those springs back in their place was a killer for me, but I FINALLY got it back together and it was the most satisfying thing in my entire life.

Although I might have listed a bunch of problems, I think I can overlook them because this gun is just so damn beautiful that I have to give it a 5. Good work S&T.

"This gun is one of the prettiest guns I have.

It is for sure a good purchase, I was skeptical to get this gun for a while because of some reviews, but the main reviews were that it had feeding issues, the feeding issues came if you overloaded the magazine.

I only try to keep maybe 10 shots in a magazine and it feeds perfectly.

The bolt is a little hard to pull back, but once you get used to it then its good.

Pretty gun
Accurate 150ft+
Fun to use
Mine came sturdy with no lose wobbles
Different sniper than everyone elses
Has a good fps for closer combat as a main battle rifle ( If you want to be the bold action against semi weapons ). As well as it is good for a sniper class.

Comes how it is with no extra parts on market in case something breaks
Magazines can have feeding issues if you over load it. has a 12 round magazine, but load only 10
