Originally inspired by concepts developed under the US Army's Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW) program, this G36-style platform reflects the push toward a lighter, more modular, and easier-to-maintain infantry rifle. The concept focused on creating a versatile platform that could be configured for multiple battlefield roles, ranging from a compact PDW-style setup to a longer support configuration.

SRC brings that distinctive concept to the Airsoft field with the SR8-2 AEG rifle, featuring a Gen. 3 Tokyo Marui-type Version 3 reinforced gearbox. The updated gearbox includes 8mm bearings, reinforced steel gears, aluminum piston head, aluminum spring guide, upgraded high-torque motor, and a metal hop up chamber. The Airsoft rifle's receiver, front assembly, and rear assembly are constructed from high-impact reinforced polymer to help reduce weight, while the adjustable Airsoft stock helps maintain a compact profile.

Completely ambidextrous controls accommodate both left- and right-handed Airsoft players. A 1.5x scope is integrated into the upper receiver and carrying handle, complemented by a set of flip-up backup iron sights.
