(Write a review) "I love this M16. I recently got into playing airsoft as a USGI âGruntâ and my first option was this JG M16. I was concerned about quality standards because it was on the lower end of pricing for an AEG, but I have to say you get a lot more than what you pay for. The gun is sturdy, I can sling it around, drop it, crawl with it, fall on it, and not worry. It never jams, and it handles a LiPo battery no problem. The attention to detail is great, and I am overall very impressed with it. I did not expect to get such a quality AEG at such a low price. I get many compliments about how historically accurate it looks and many more compliments about the build quality. I will be looking into JG products for my future airsoft purchases. "JG has stepped up their game with these rifles, let me just say. I've wanted an m16 for years and I'm so glad I went with this one. Best gun I've purchased so far, that being said it wasn't perfect out of the box but still impressive for a JG.
So I got it intending to build the gearbox but it ran so well I let it go for a week before the bevel to pinion noise finally got to me. That was the only gear that needed shimmed actually, the rest of the box was fine. Heres some of the internals that surprised me-
-had 8mm bearings, not great but seem
-metal piston head
-aluminum cylinder head
-poly o-ring nozzle (perfect seal)
-Half metal rack poly piston, tough.
-Metal spring guide, not bearing but does move like one.
-M120ish spring, high quality.
-JG Blue motor. 28tpa w/ neo magnets, TOUGH MOTOR
-Cylinder could have been ported a bit further back since it's a 509 mm barrel but it was alright.
-70° hard bucking (or close to)
If it had better bevel to pinion meshing I wouldn't have opened it honestly. Now on to the externals and small things that bothered me while building this aeg.
-one piece metal outer barrel, front post sight actually threads on/off for other barrel options which is cool, but no slot for front wiring which was a downside for me.
-full stock is solid but a pain to remove according to most. Actually it's a 2 piece half stock, typical JG fasion. It splits down the middle and then comes off, revealing an Allen/hex key head at the receiver. You don't need a 10in Allen key like most say.
-working mock bolt catch. pull the charging handle and the mock bolt sticks back,(revealing the hop up adjust so you don't have to hold the handle, nice addition) just press the bolt release to let it go.wont work if you decide to front wire your aeg, I found out the wires block the release from working properly. Stock it's really cool to use though.
So the ONLY negative about this would be the outer barrel. It's great in stock form but I wanted an MOE handgaurd and I guess the distance between the post and Delta is shorter for the tri handgaurd. it took a day or two of spacers and shims to get my MOE to fit snug. Unlrelated but not really, as I said the outer barrel has no front wire slot so I had to build a new one from spare parts to get wires to the MOE. Luckily the post sight screws on/off and it doesn't look like I'm using a janky outer barrel.
All around I'm very surprised how well JG is building these guns. Very much worth the price tag and I don't say that often. This thing is better than alot of m16s out there and it's under $200, If you want one grab this. Won't be disappointed. "I got this gun about a week ago and I love it. The only problem I have with it is that the Stock is a bit wobbly when it showed up. The thing that I don't like about this gun is that it says on here that you need a 9.6v battery but in the gun manual it states that you need a 8.4v, witch is true. If you use a 9.6 the gun will work only for 1min tops then cease all functions. If you use the 8.4 your golden. Other then that the guns perfect. Read More Reviews Write a Review
