"Make no mistake, this tool is high quality. This is a tool which needs to be used properly for it to work. If not, it will fail. So, here's a pointer or two: the valve should only be tightened, finger tight...nothing more. The tool should be used when the magazine is room temperature. If not, it will have added resistance due to contraction of the valve housing. If the valve will not turn, heat the magazine slightly with a hair dryer, this will expand the valve housing. And finally, lubricate the o-rings with silicon before installing, this will ensure that it does not get stuck and ruin the tool later.

"Great little tool. Does exactly as described. Center is aluminum. The 3 silver parts are some cheap steel. Earth magnets barely stick to it. But for what it does it doesn't need to be great steel.

NOTE: The grub screws are a little loose. A little red or blue loctite will fix the issue and make the tool feel much more solid.

"I purchased this tool for use on my KWA M226 pistol, and KWA LM4 PTR rifle magazines. On the advice of another reviewer I checked the set screws before using the tool. Was able to tighten all three slightly. The tool worked great, just as advertised. I tightened the charging valves on two of three magazines that were factory new, and one magazine release valve.
I now check all new magazines for loose valves, before using. I had no trouble with the tool, although I haven't used it to loosen or remove any valves yet. That is probably when others have had trouble with it breaking. It is possible that Evike has upgraded the steel used, or tempered the tools better. I can't say. I'm pleased with mine so far and would highly recommend.
