G&P Lower Rail System for M249 Series Airsoft AEG Machine Guns

"Got this for my A&K M249 MkII. Fits perfectly. No machining required. Make sure you are ordering the G&P lower RIS. Its designed for their ranger version of the M249, and is shorter than the rails on the MK 46. This means you don't have to remove the vehicle mounting lug, which is welded on, like you would have to if you order some other rail systems.

The only things I had a problem with was the grip and rail covers. The vertical grip is not comfortable for such a heavy weapon. It seems identical to another grip that came with my A&K SR25, but that grip is much more comfortable than the one this came with. Second, the rail cover on the left side cannot be properly mounted, since it cannot got all the way on due to the barrel assembly release lever. Both are very minor things that are easily fixed by finding new attachments.

Installing was very easy, once I figured what needed to be done. You don't need any tools other than an Allen wrench set to install it.
Like a previous reviewer said, I found that the metal clips that the original hand guard used to lock into place are now blocking the anchor plate. No need to get pliers and bend them out of the way. Look underneath. You will find 3 screws in a triangular pattern just in front of the mag mounting bracket. Remove the 2 that are side-by-side and further up towards the muzzle, and the clip assembly will come right out. Don't remove the third screw that is further back and in the center, I have no idea what its attached to but you don't need to remove it.

Overall, this is the second best upgrade I did for my M249, only beaten by the railed feed cover for mounting optics. I would highly recommend for you M249.

"Bought this for my A&K despite him claiming to have to do a lot of modifying work, there is nothing to it. Get a pair of needle nose pliers and push the clips in and it slides in and will lock down fine without a problem and is solid.

"i got this nice piece for my m249 so i could get my preferred foregrip the part quality is great however i had to do alot of custom work to fit this on my A&K and it still isn on quite correctly but i have it on there the part is great though just dont get it for an A&K
