CYMA Platinum SMG9 Airsoft Electric Submachine Gun (Model: Push-In Stock)

10 Customer Reviews

"Have taken this to 10+ open plays. I mostly use this as a loaner gun to my friends and have used it my self a couple games. Gun is snappy, sounds great, and is accurate. High ROF and feels solid, one of the heavier guns I own but I enjoy it. I left this gun stock including the Bucking and nub and it can hop .32 no issue. The only negative I can say is that the paint job is not super durable and has gotten scratches and nicks a lot faster than my other airsoft guns.

"I've had the SMG9 for about a week now and am very impressed and happy. The CYMA Platinum Edition was definitely the way to go. The receiver and everything is very solid and feels just like the real thing. Its very accurate out of the box after spending a little bit of time zeroizing my red dot optic. I'm running at 7.4v instead of 11.1 and full auto is still very snappy. I never understood people trying to reach insane RPS, especially since the real thing can do only 700rnds/min.

I definitely recommend the M4 stock in order to give you options for replacement. I'm a bigger guy at 6'4, and the buffer tube and M4 stock that comes with the weapon feel like something sized from a toy model. I promptly replaced them with real steel mil-spec M4 parts and it feels much better. Although I'm not sure if its just the tolerances from the replica manufacturing process or not, but I had to go to my local gunsmith to get a replacement castle nut for the mil-spec buffer tube.

For additional magazines, the CYMA's are the only way to go. They are rock solid in the mag well with very little play. I've had no feeding issues thus far.

The only downsides I've found thus far is the weapon can be a little heavy at times. The HK slap charging handle is a nice addition but really is useless for an AEG as it has no function, but does aid in the immersion. Also, the lack of MP5 spec parts for some of the internals can be a little disheartening. It would be really nice to get a Maxx hop-up unit. Lastly, the M-Lok rail on the hand guard is a little small and can lead to clearance issues with multiple accessories depending on what you are running.

"I've had 5 CYMA Platinum guns, and i've never regretted a purchase. this gun keeps this reputation amazingly, the build quality is rock solid with no wobble besides the flash hider. the internals are on par with cyma platinum and make a great shooting experience, the hopup works well (although caps out at around 100- feet. the only gripe i have about this gun is the charging handle. i was way too rough with constant hk slaps and snapped it. Luckily there is a 10 dollar replacement on evike that allows me to replace it. CYMA has shown once again that the platinum line of guns are very good for the sub 300 dollar price point.

"I just got it today and I tried it a little but it seems to behave very well..
the quality is good (although the mag included leaves a lot to say)
I had read not very good things about the selector and well if they are correct but nothing that can't be fixed by operating it carefully (you don't have to move it position suddenly... it's not necessary anyway)

(I wish they would include a hemlock to picatinny adapter but I'm not complaining anyway).

"Gun shoot great stock just a little heavy for the size
Only work with CYMA mags other mags fit but very loose and fall out anytime you play
Be careful when you take it apart you can easily strip the fire selector screw hole mine strip to unusable so I have to mod it to make it stay in place
Mine was shooting 378fps after I take 1 teeth from the sector gear it shoot 350 exactly
Hopup stay in the middle all the time you only need an oring to make sure hop wont move when you use it
I also shave the hop rubber to have a concave shape and that will improve accuracy if you dont want to spend money for Mr hop bucking and nub

"Pros:
Accurate with .28s
Very maneuverable
Optic rail already installed
QD flash hider
Can swap on any mp5 style stock
Very snappy with the microtrigger
Ambidextrous
Cons:
Hop up won't stay adjusted on my model. If i shoot about 10
times it'll go from full hop to none
The fire selector switch does not know where to go when going
to semi, is solid once selected

"just got the gun last night and I am pretty impressed, the trigger response with a 11.1V LiPo is nuts also it sounds like it has a mosfet because it makes beeping noises when you first plug it in. The gun is a little heavy but its all metal so what do you expect, the hop up is a bit of an issue as it is very loose and won't stay adjusted without help but a piece of electrical tape fixed that. another thing is the battery tube is tiny i bought a 1100 mih 11.1 stick and it does not fit with the wires, also the fire select feels pretty delicate and it doesn't like to snap into the locations.

Overall, decent but for $300+ you would expect some of those crucial components to work a little better

"I bought this a while back before evike had these in stock. They're great MP5s and probably the best bang for your buck on this website, however $300+ is a alot IMO.

Pros:
- Very good trigger response, it runs a 13:1 shortstroked SHS gearset with a built in MOSFET
- Quick change spring (mine was a older version and didn't have one, RIP)
- High firerate (30 RPS)

Cons:
- Mosfet can die very quick if you're unlucky
- hopup is adequate but leaves more to be desired.

If you're looking for a MP5 with great internals and a rail system OTB, this is a great pick.
