Modify PP-2K Gas Blowback Airsoft SMG (Model: Green Gas / Black)

10 Customer Reviews

"This thing is awesome, I just got it today but it easily hops bbs to 120ft or more with just .28s with barely any hopup applied. It comes with a hard case, some free patches, a very good and detailed manual, and I think a dead rag? It’s a red rag with the modify logo on it. Anyways pros and cons:
Pros:
Nice weight
Comfortable to hold
Many aftermarket accessories
Great range and hopup ( .28s are ok as they’re all I have for now but I think I’d recommend .32s or above as you’ll maximize the potential of your hopup.
Pretty accurate.

Cons:
Sharp edges on the grip in some spots
Gas efficiency isn’t great but that’s to be expected, the mag may just not be broken in yet.
Only one sling point.
Relatively expensive mags.
Some of the attachments that modify makes for this gun are pretty expensive, not really a con unless you’re kinda broke and trying to get into the gbbr scene like me.

OVERALL: this guns awesome and I would recommend it for anyone trying to get into gbbrs as it’s a pretty cheap option considering some of the other guns prices. The hard case is a really nice touch as I found I can fit the gun, a t1 red dot, two spare Pp2k mags and 2 glock magazines all in the same case that comes with the gun. BUY THIS GUN it shoots great and was an awesome first gbbr purchase.

"Bought one from my local field and it was an older one. The older version is plagued with issues. However the newer generation is mostly backwards compatible and if not Modify makes parts that work in the Gen 1. The new generation has metal parts instead of plastic for the ones that broke and a more gas efficient nozzle. If you get an older version prepare to pay another like 60 to get this thing running good which all being said isn't terrible. Overall for a new platform this is incredibly well made and if you get a new one you're completely set.

"Amazing gun.

Pros:
Great hopup out of the box (Modify does some of the best factory hopups)
Great internals, everything is high quality steel where it's needed.
LOUD! The loudest gun with a Noveske amplifier on CO2 I or anybody has ever heard. I love it.
Great recoil, especially on full auto with CO2.
Amazing spare part availability from Modify-Tech . com
Rate of fire.
No upgrades needed out of the box... which is very rare.

Cons:
A little small if you're a bigger person.
Magazines are expensive :(
Don't drop your mags, the plastic is pretty brittle.

Would highly recommend this gun, even for someone getting into Gas Blowback Rifles. No upgrades needed out of the box at all.

"Well no one on Evike (as of this posting) has left a review on the Modify PP-2K and I figured I would try to aid you as best as I can about the Pros and Cons of the airsoft gun.
First off, lets get the obvious out the way with that it is a GBB- this means maintenance. If you have literally any other kind of GBB, you know that cleaning and lubricating is a must. That being said, the PP-2K is a blessing to field strip! It is ridiculously easy to take apart and clean. The only thing I would advise is tightening the selector switch from a tiny screw on the inside, it makes the selector miles stiffer and feels great! Other than that, the internals are solid! The Hop-up on this thing is insane! Is it blasphemy to say it competes with a TM hop-up?.... meh I don't care. The point being, it can hop even the heaviest bb's with ease. If you so choose to put a new bucking or barrel, you're only helping the PP-2K's decent range. I was often hitting 100-115yd torso sized targets with this thing. Granted, the weather wasn't affecting the trajectory. The only thing I advise being careful with is CO2 mags with this thing- there are 2 versions of the PP-2k. For the Nozzle inside the bolt carrier, there are two sets of screws available- a M1.4x10 nozzle screw or a M2.0x12 nozzle screw. Evike sells the M1.4x10 model- making the nozzle more sensitive to CO2. This could potentially strip your screws or destroy the bolt nozzle, so I personally recommend using green gas since it is a less abusive pressure. Overall, the interior is without flaw, and the design of the gun is genuinely unique!

Pros:
Very accurate and consistent
Decent rate of fire ( its not TM Extreme high-capa fast because of the internal design, but its fast!)
Charging handle is ambidextrous
Supports PP-2K light that goes in the front hand grip
SNAPPY recoil
A very very good hop-up
The presentation is superb! - the gun box is sturdy, and the patches, stickers and dead rag that it comes with is more than enough to appreciate the effort that Modify put in.

Cons:
The selector switch was fairly loose (at least in mine).
The M1.4X10 air nozzle screws aren't the best for CO2, so I recommend green gas if using full auto.
The stock, due to it being removable with the push of a button, is fairly wobbly- if you want to make a quick fix, put some electrical tape on either end of the stock and it is STURDY.

Summary- Is this a good competitor to other GBB's of its class? The answer- YES! It is very accurate, reliable (if using Green gas, or CO2 on semi) and it is fairly compact. It is both a good indoor CQB gun and a good outdoor carbine-style shooter. It is versatile for sure and that trigger pull and reset is CRISP. I recommend getting it for sure! Be on the lookout for mags though, as those tend to sell out all the time!

"Wrote a bad review initially, changed my mind quickly after. Hop up adjustment is odd, but works fine once adjusted. Magazines are relatively efficient after being broken in, will leak all the gas before firing, but rarely. Gun is VERY loud and satisfying. 100% glad I got this as my first gas blowback, and has me hooked on GBBRs.

"I've had this gun for a week and I've been thoroughly testing it. So far, it's been a big problem child me. I may have gotten a lemon so take my review with a grain of salt.
First off, the gas efficiency is terrible. It will not make it through an entire magazine of bbs on 1 gas charge, especially if you use any full auto. I acquired an Airtac UK MP5 mag adapter that uses HPA, so I fixed that issue by using that.
Second, the accuracy was awful. I used .28s and .30s and I couldn't get any consistency out of it. It was like a different amount of hop up was being applied to the BBs every 2-3 shots. Some would curve up a bit, some would fly perfectly straight, and then a couple shots would drop downwards. The FPS output with the Airtac UK hpa adapter was super consistent so it wasn't that. Waiting on a new inner barrel and the predator bucking to fix that issue.
Third, the trigger stopped resetting in semi. I tried all the fixes on modify's site and none worked. I eventually had to implement my own changes to the trigger unit to make sure it would reset on its own. In the process, I lost the spring that helps lock the valve knocker. Now I have to either find it on my floor, or make my own because there's no spare sold by modify sadly.
All in all, this gun could be really good if you don't get unlucky like me and if you run HPA. It does have great externals and the majority of the trigger components are made of good quality steel. The gun feels fantastic to shoot as well. I would only recommend this for airsofters who have confidence in working on their own guns incase they get a lemon like mine.
Pros
-Good ergonomics
-nice trigger components
-snappy cycling
-easy to disassemble
-nice externals
-Lots of spare parts available on Modify's website (except that spring)

Cons
-terrible gas efficiency
-mine was very inaccurate
-trigger is bound to eventually have the issue of not resetting on its own
-Hop up is a huge pain to adjust in my opinion
-if you want to run aftermarket buckings, you'll need to make slight modifications to the bucking to fit more than likely

"meh.

it looks cool.

russian smg pew pew.

the gas never lasts for an entire mag, especially for an extendo.

expect gas reloads in the middle of a fire fight a tthe worst moment.

bought it locally - that was probably my first problem. second problem was that it was the display model, LOL. never buy local, and especially never buy the display model. ugh

"I have this gun , now the gun runs great but that's only if the magazines work properly, I have 2 CO2 mags and 1 green gas mag neither can finish the full capacity of BBs you fill. Whenever I use these mags I have to fill them only half way which is very disappointing since I bought the large cap mags. Just saying gun is great but the mags need alot of work.

"Bought this on sale impulsively because I saw it had a pink version and had to get it purely because of how funny it was. FPS range that I've measured (day 1, about 7 magazines run through it just to get a feel for it) is 320 all the way down to 180. Accuracy is decent, but the hop up is not. Noticeable 2-3 foot drop just across my small yard. The magazines seem to only hold enough gas for one full magazine, sometimes a few rounds short of even that. This was my first gas blowback gun, second gun overall. Full auto is fun and very satisfying, though somewhat quiet. When checking the chamber, noticeable, deep scratches could be seen inside. The upper receiver wobbles slightly, about 0.5-1 mm of play. I hear the gen 2 parts are relatively cheap and simple to install, and I'm considering upgrading, however part of me questions if it's even worth it when I can just wait and move on to a better gbbr, or a simple aeg, relegating this to nothing more than a joke for full auto fields.

"Possibly the worst gun I’ve ever had finally got this as a present, but I came to a rude awakening. As soon as I tried to test shoot it it’s shot three times, then expelled all of the gas that I have loaded so I thought it was just a one time thing so I sent it back to get fixed. We did a little bit and once I got it back, I went to test shoot it again and lo and behold. It did not work again and I don’t believe that the people I sent it back to to get it fixed did anything and it really makes me sad because I’ve seen so many reviews and people calling it good when it doesn’t even work in the first place personally would not get again
