Designed as a "split-panel" gearbox, Laylax integrated an access panel onto the lower section of the gearbox, making gear changes and shimming extremely simple and easy with no need to remove any of the compression parts or completely disassemble the gearbox. The top-side features a quick-change steel ball-bearing spring guide and another segmented access panel for the compression parts. The cylinder window has been pre-radiused front and back.
Wiring channels are located on the outside of the gearbox, keeping battery and trigger wires neatly segmented and away from any internal moving parts.
The gearbox panels are made from precision machined aluminum for a clean finish, strength, and durability. The main gearbox body is made from high strength cast zinc alloy. M3 steel screws are features all-around for extra strength.

" I replace all my non-quick-change gearbox shells with this. It's just ridiculously good. CNC'd rather than cast so it's of super high quality. And the way they divide the gearbox from the piston assembly is brilliant and makes servicing your AEG so much easier. Likewise because of the nice cut-aways, shimming gears is a breeze. And finally having all the wires be routed on the outside of the gearbox means no more electrical issues from internals accidentally wearing away wire insulation. Just all-around great design here.
" I bought this gearbox shell for my arp9 and was super exited when I got it. Looks good feel good I like the way it worked with my components. Unfortunately after 650 rounds the front end where the nozzle is broke even though it says that it has been reinforced to prevent this kind of breakage suffice it to say I am sad
