(Write a review) "Many of the comments as of 5/3/2020 are so negative but I guess they don't have the money to experience the unique look and intimidation that comes with this helmet. I've had my medic ronin helmet since before they came to evike and the build quality is pretty good. My neck was injured in a car accident and the helmet is still light enough for me to field it all day without straining. However, don't let the weight make you think it's not durable. I've thrown mine around a fair amount and it only has minor scratches.
It's important to note that if you don't periodically tighten the retention screws for the face mask they may eventually loosen significantly and strip while in use. FOV is adequate in my opinion. I've previously run the maska-1sch (r6 tachanka) helmet so the full face protection, lighter weight, and improved FOV is great.
The main cons are the fan noise, reduced peripheral, and added bulk. I've already worked with bulky, distracting helmets that rattle a lot so it didn't bother me much. The fans make only a low humming sound, but sometimes in close quarters the fan noise is enough to either give you away when it's dead silent, or leave you unaware of a lurking enemy. The reduced peripheral only matters when you get really close to the enemy or operate indoors. I've never been hit because I didn't SEE the enemy since most of the time you're fighting at a distance. The bulkiness was to be expected, and it's important to note that it may render some sights useless while wearing the helm, but I'm used to operating with bulky headgear. I was able to use my medic helm with my RPK iron sights simply by rotating my head about 70 degrees. Since transitioning to a regular non raised dot optic I've had an easier time aiming down sights.
Even with the mentioned cons, I believe the helmet is worth its price point. The fans keep me cool all day, the helmet takes hits while keeping my face pretty, and the helmet alone will turn heads and make you the cool guy of the day at your local airsoft field. Write a Review
