Archon Firearms Type B Airsoft Parallel Training Weapon by EMG (Model: Black / Green Gas)

"I’ve put about 1000 rounds through this and it still works great, it’s reliable and fairly accurate, it’s the best airsoft sidearm I’ve personally used.

"Got this in a mystery box. Have put a few rounds through it. Even lent it to another player. No issues. If you like Glocks you should like this. My slide was sticky(as was mentioned by another reviewer) in the very beginning but broke in really quickly(after all a new gun is gonna be a little tight like some are). It’s fairly good on accuracy. Can’t complain about efficiency. Haven’t had any magazine issues.

The Ontario location currently 5/6/21 has few pistols in stock, but they have these, I feel like customers are overlooking this fairly solid gun.

"This thing is freakin' awesome! As my first gas blow back, I was super happy when I got it in the not airsofticon box of awesomeness. The grip on this thing is insane. Jet Desert Fox wasn't lying when he said it feels like its grabbing you back. It just feels so naturally comfortable in the hand. Was a little annoyed that the manual is still unavailable from EMG, but the video you guys did explained everything perfectly. I cant wait to field it!!!

"I love the AF Type B!!! I got it about a month ago & have shot ~400 bbs & haven't had any real problems so far, nice blowback, cycles good, sometimes the slide catches when you release it via the switch, but not very often & its never caught when racking it by hand. The orange tip does come off with a little effort to reveal -11 threads which is nice, pairs perfectly with my tracer!! Very satisfied with this pistol!

"For my first GBB pistol, this thing is great!

I keep getting comments on the field about how cool this thing looks, Accuracy seems good, and the recoil is smooth. I've noticed that when using this gun you need to be rough with it. Sometimes when you rack the slide, if you aren't forceful, it will not return all the way forward, there's a bit of a detent that it will stop at. The same thing goes when loading in mags, if you don't give it a good slam, they either wont stay in, or will leak. These may be common characteristics of GBB guns, but something worth noting.

Overall this gun is fun to shoot, its got great trigger response, good accuracy, and a solid feel.

"Very good, this was one my first green gas pistol I would recommend, has a nice grip. Blowback is nice, the pistol and magazine have a good weight for having a metal upper and a polymer lower. Good job Emg !!

"Got this little beauty from the Memorial Day box of awesomeness and let me tell you this is a pistol worth it’s weight in gold! Solid performance, great texture and sights and shoots like a champ! Only downside is no holsters but they’re coming hopefully soon.

"EMG did a very good job of replicating the real steel Archon Type B. The level of detail to match is outstanding. From the triple spring guide to the actual Bergmann-Bayard barrel locking Y block. Even the trigger is replicated well. The sights are good. The grip fits well. It's not too heavy and not too light. All the details are there.

Due to COVID-19 I'll have to return with a performance review once I can start playing again.

"Pretty decent little pistol, good grip, it fires and cycles pretty well. I do like it for those close quarter fields. The mag release does stick with the mag a bit, Also about half of the mags I have purchased leak gas straight out of the box, and requires a little work with some o-rings. I have had to replace a fill valve on one of the mags after a bit of use to get the mag back into shape without leaks. All in all I am pleased with this gun.

"Its a great pistol. I love the grip and finish. My only gripe with the gun is that I dont like the mag release button. It makes removing your magazine a task because it gets stuck sometimes. Also the mags could do better on gas. Other then that its a great piece to have.

relatively small grip, hand may interfere with reload
not the most accurate airsoft weapon out of the box
hop-up could be more accessible, don't plan on adjusting it on the fly

Conclusion:
If you want an updated glock this is the gun for you

"Received one of these from a box of awesomeness deal and at first I thought it was the only good thing out of it. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I'm pretty disappointed, from day 1 the mag was very finicky. It leaked a lot, then it stopped leaking for a bit, and now it barely holds any gas because it leaks so much. Besides that, the gun works pretty well. The hop-up is easy enough to access, I really like that the pin that holds the slide on doesn't fall out completely so that you don't lose it. The grip feels very nice in your hands as well. All in all, good gun with poor quality magazines.

"Nice looking pistol, good grip and very much like the real steel. I get a bit of extra gas on the first shots also hop-up could be better. Might need to use it more maybe get a barrel and hop-up unit if possible. This fits condor ambidextrous Glock holster (fabric) especially with the extra mag pouch removed. It does not fit hard Glock holsters.

"I want to throw this out there, this is a great pistol and pretty reliable. There are pros and cons of course but for the money its a great pistol, for value what you get out of it its decent.


Pros
Pistol is a 1:1 scale of the real archon type B
Will fit in the actual archon type b holsters, recommend STANDARD Co holsters.
Disassembly is really close to the real archon type b
magazine release is swappable for left handed use

Cons
the slide is smooth like i said in the pros section, however the slide hangs up and you have to gentle tap the slide for it to go back into battery.
if you are left handed, the mag release to swap it on the correct side for lefty use, it's interesting, mags will drop free but at times of repeated press on the mag release, the mag release will freeze up and have a hard time getting the magazine out.
Magazines are mixed, some feed and others do not, i have filled up a mag with gas and when in use the magazine was empty on gas.

This is my personal experience I have with this pistol, it's more in a love/hate relationship with this pistol, want to like it more so like it love it, but due to the cons I have in an actual airsoft event twice, I dont know if I"d contiune to use this pistol.
