"For my first GBBR, this was awesome. It is great to test the waters of gas blowback if you are unsure of it.

Pros:
-Realism is the best it gets
-Easily modifiable with any G&P or WA aftermarket upgrades
-Gas efficient right out of the box
-Very well made, everything seems high quality
-Hopup is set out of the box and is very accurate
-DD logo and MK18 engraving looks very cool IMO

Cons:
-"Recoil" is not as big as a bunch of other GBBRs I use but it is still there. You can fix this with a buffer and buffer spring upgrade or by using heavier gas. This is a result of the gun being very gas efficient however, so I can't really complain.
-A little annoying to reach the hopup, since you have to take off the rail. The manual also isn't super helpful about doing so. Not a big deal though because it is good out of the box.

Overall would I recommend this gun? YES. For my first GBBR I wouldn't have bought anything else. I can't complain about the mags or anything being expensive because it is just like that in the GBBR world. Buy this NOWWWWWWW

"I just recently received the two tone version, and im extremely satisfied with the quality of this build. This is not my first gbbr and this one has more recoil than my previous WE m16a3. This rifle features a lighter bolt, and a plastic buffer, but that does not stop it from functioning. After shooting, at around 85 the bb’s started to fall with no adjustments to the hop up, it shot around 100ft with minor adjustments. I have yet to take it past 100, but i will do so in the near future. I highly recommend this product as a starter gbbr. The trademarks and the quality are well worth the money. Do yourself a favor and pick one up today!

"Pros- Shoots accurately right out of the box, looks great, good weight
Cons- Stock is wobbly, I replaced it with Magpul, RIS is wobbly as well no matter how much I tighten it, ended up super gluing it but now I don’t have access to hop-up which is fine because it’s accurate without it

Note for anyone wondering, the black one and two tone with tan furniture has an orange plastic bolt, the two tone one with black furniture and fde options have black bolts so they’re a lot more realistic. Orange tip is removable, punch out a pin, dip in boiling water and twist, -14mm threads

"If 4 and a half was possible I would give it that. This is most definitely WA as advertised. Meaning that you are able to run GHK hops and or mags and others similar with little to no modification. While there is no hole for a gas tube in the handguard there is on in the receiver so if you either drill a hole or buy a different guard and castle nut you should be fine. It did some withe a loose buffer nut and castle but you can tighten them at any point. Mine came with a wobbly stock though. for all the other parts of the gun the only other thing I don't like is that the charging handle felt a little loose but every thing that counts such as trigger, action and responsiveness where all very good.

"Pros
- Beautiful, rugged Daniel Defense handguard
- Beautiful Daniel Defense trademarks on receiver
- Receiver is made of decent aluminum
- Good trigger reset
- Functional forward assist
- Compatible with WA system

Cons
- Magazines are garbage (leaking from fill and output valves brand new)
- Dust cover was extremely difficult to close out of the box; required a bit of breaking in
- Bolt would get stuck traveling backwards out of the box; required some lube and breaking in
- Magazine insertions require quite a bit of force to get them to lock; mag/mag catch issues
- During magazine insertions when the bolt is locked back, magazines would be pushed too far up the mag well from the excessive force from the magazine insertion, getting in the way of the bolt cycling forward when dropping the bolt
- Hop up was either installed incorrectly out of the box or poorly designed; hop up adjustment was stiff out of the box
- No gas block/gas tube! Bolt up plate has no hole for a gas tube
- Really wobbly crane stock
- No sling point on buffer plate

Final Thoughts

This gun is a good beginner GBBR for those who want to start using them but don't have the money to buy a GHK or MWS system. A side note on the magazines, this gun was definitely designed to fit the GHK G5 mags. They fit better than the OEM mags this gun comes with and definitely perform better. Keep in mind though that inserting the GHK magazines a little too hard will still end up going a little too far up the mag well and getting in the way of the bolt sliding forward. This issue is a chassis issue. But whatever you do, don't buy the Golden Eagle OEM gas mags because they're garbage.

"I really wanted to give this 5 stars. It's solid build, compatible with tons of aftermarket real steel parts, and it runs like a dream. It's a gorgeous rifle, and I'm so glad I chose it to be my new primary. Truly, there's almost nothing you can do wrong in choosing this rifle.

However, there is one glaring issue: The rails on the upper receiver (not the handguard), are ever so slightly off. Any sight that mounts with multiple lugs is not going to clamp down properly. If you're lucky, one of your mounts will fit. The LPVO I ordered for this rifle specifically did not fit, but I pulled an LPVO off of another rifle, and it just barely fit (cranking down on the lugs mashed it in place, I'm kind of afraid to take it off and see what I did to my rails lol)

In the grand scheme of things, it's a minor issue... But at the same time, it's incredibly annoying. Single lug mounts, like an Eotech clone, etc, are your best friend here.

"Solid entry point for GBBRs if you're wanting a full-metal replica, but cant afford an MWS.

Pros
-Realistic operation and internals, LRHBO, ambi controls.
-Feels solid, except for the nozzle on the bolt carrier, all the important internals are metal.
-Compatible with every matrix handguard I've tried. If you don't like the stock quad rail, swap it out.
-52 Rnd Mag stock, pretty efficient. I can get a whole mag out without needing to refill.
-Easy to swap internals, will take real steel pistol grips, buffer weights.
-Durable. Others and myself have dropped this thing multiple times and nothing has cracked or broken.
-WA system, compatible with most ghk m4 v2 parts, including magazines.
-Stock, Has an aeg barrel and bucking, easy swaps and upgrades.
-Snappy recoil, nice trigger response and reset.

Cons
-Wobbly. The stock, the handguard, the pistol grip. All a bit loose from factory. Nothing a bit of blue loctite can't fix.
-Lack of aftermarket parts on evike. 6mm has plenty, though if you're in that market.
-Mags are rare, heavy and expensive.
-Stock has an aeg barrel and bucking, potentially making upgrades and swaps more tedious and expensive.
-Stock hop has trouble lift heavier than .25s.

TLDR:

If you want a full metal, realistic, gbbr and you want it now, give this or another WA system a go.

If you want max performance out of the box with massive aftermarket support, save up for an MWS.

"The gun impressed me right out of the box as everything was mounted properly and didn't have any wobble except for the buffer tube (still looking for how to fix but should be easy).

Gas consistency is good although you can only get about 1 1/2 mags before refilling with gas.

the body seemed to be all aluminum handguard and steel top/bottom receiver with all steel internals beside the recoil buffer being good quality plastic. The outer barrel does has a few millimeters of wobble but doesn't seem to affect firing.
Includes realistic licensing by Daniel Defense although on bottom of handguard it does say airsoft use only.

The nozzle in the bolt carrier is orange which is a downside for me as far as realism, otherwise it performs very well and was shooting at about 310 fps with .20 in 50 fahrenheit.

I would recommend as it is fully compatible with WA system gbbr in case anything breaks or is being upgraded.

"As my first GBBR, this is a solid choice and you cannot go wrong with the look, feel, and out-of-box performance of this rifle. However, there are some gripes that I have related to quality….

1. The standard magazine it comes with sucks pretty bad. The unit I have holds gas well but is tough to put gas in. Even when I try to press my green gas can nozzle hard against the valve to fill the magazine reservoir, it leaks like crazy. Fortunately, I have not experienced any magazine leakages during gameplay. The GHK M4 magazine that is compatible is a MUCH more solid option that is much more worth it. Stock up on the GHK mags whenever you can find them available. They always go out of stock fast.

2. The para butt stock is pretty loose and wobbly. It’s secure enough to use and doesn’t affect gameplay, but you might need to DIY some padding or shims to make it less wobbly and feel more solid. Or potentially just get an aftermarket stock.

3. Bolt catch is wobbly. After a month of use, my bolt catch became loose and wouldn’t catch the bolt at all after firing the last round in a mag. Still taking me some time tinkering to figure out how to fix it, as it is a different bolt catches assembly compared to other GBB Mk18s on the market.
