KWA Full Metal VM4A1 / M4 Carbine Airsoft AEG Rifle (Package: Add 9.6v 1600mAh Battery + Charger)

"I bought one a few months back and it’s of really high quality. Nothing rattles, aesthetically pleasing and shoots straight. I think KWA outdone themselves with this product and quite frankly I wouldn’t mind getting another one.

"Very very decent. If you buy an Avalon or something like that, you’re basically paying $150 more for slightly quicker trigger response. That is the only real shortcoming with this gun, and it could probably be fixed with a faster motor. I am using a 11.1v 20c 900mah LiPo, and it’s sufficient.
My range was really going down, and so I cleaned the bucking, and boom! fixed it with $0. I tried swapping out barrel/hopup assembly, tried all sorts of combinations, nothing worked anywhere near as well as just cleaning the bucking and barrel, and just rolling with that. I have not touched the gearbox.
At zero hop, .25s fly pretty straight and far, so you could probably use up to .32s bone stock.
Lack of compatibility is as bad as it gets with this gun, and seeing as how you’re not supposed to upgrade it, that’s not really a bad thing. Love the cutoff feature, love the VPS system, too. The only other thing is battery space, but worst case scenario, just strap one to the outside of the stock and drill a little hole in the endcap for the wires.
Overall, definitely recommend for a solid gun that you don’t want to have to mess with.

"Gun does have to be “ broken “ in but honestly even though it doesn’t have a mosfet this thing is pretty good for the price, now I have an lm4 as well, which to me is a better metal, my only minor complaint is the trigger guard in the pictures here did not come with my gun, mine has one that kinda looks like a “ g28 “ trigger guard, I tried taking it off to swap it with the lm4 and some how cracked the metal. I glued it back on so well that you wouldn’t notice it but ..... I DO..... other than that. I’ve got an 11.1 strapped to this thing and I was literally sniping people with it. Got an r.I.s rail system on it, mag pul rail covers, and a 4x zoom acog lol

My first game with it I hid up in a building and hit 15 people and I wasn’t touched once, had my tracer unit on as well, which does make the gun a little hard to use in cqb but screw it we have other people to take tight corners I’ll provide over watch lol fine with me.

Don’t think about it, if you find one of these just get it. Right now this and my krytac alpine white vector are my favorite guns, and keep it between us...... I was liking my m4 better that last game. But please don’t tell the vector I swore she was the one for so long ......

"I got this package today and right away I started to use it, the gun feels super nice, does not feel like it will break. Real sterdy full metal with some obvious strong polymer to lighten the load. The relievers are full metal which gives it an amazing feel. It is real comfortable to hold and feels it will last for a long time. The gun is accurate and precise, I took it out side and set up a small target and was able to hit it a good 30 ft away. 100% recommend this gun!

"For the price point you really cannot do any better; trust me I’ve tried (been playing airsoft for almost 20 years and have owned over 30 rifles). Bit since the other hundreds of reviews online have told you this is a great gun for the price, here are my thoughts on the features I like/dislike.

Chrono’d at an average of 350 FPS with .25’s after I put about 1000 rounds through it. Currently shooting 24 rps with a 15c 11.1 LiPo. FPS is very consistent shot to shot (less then 5 FPS \-) which is indicative of a nice air seal. Accuracy and range are excellent stock based on my experience (I’ve seen others gripe about the hop up on KWA’s but that was not the case for me). Hitting an Evike popper target at 50 yards with acceptable consistency. Variable FPS is an awesome feature to fine tune performance without having to change springs. I also love the cut off mag feature since I hate dry firing (basically telling the other team I am about to reload so please rush me). Fit and finish is on par with every other high end gun I’ve owned. Eligible for Evike’s bonus program so you can pick up a spare mag or other goodies for free also.

My only gripes are the wiring in the buffer tube is too long and too thick (think desk lamp sized power cord rolled up inside a buffer tube). Not a big deal if you have the tri-cell style lipo’s; also a small 11.1 LiPo will fit vertically in the stock end cap. Other concern is the durability of the cutoff mag. I haven’t attempted to use them in any type of fast pace game where rapid reloading is needed, but I’m concerned the bb follower protruding from the mag will break off if rattling around in my dump pouch or if the mag is tactifliped to the ground during an engagement. Neither of these are even close to deal breakers; more info for you to consider.

All in all it’s a great rifle and you won’t be disappointed

-PTS enhanced motor grip never comes loose
-feels like it has a mosfet, it doesnt.
-Cycle time: 36ms with 11.1v 35c 2000mah at 388fps (thats baisically instant btw)
-One Piece rotary hopup
-Contact Protector Means you can use an 11.1 35c 2000mah and have no worries about your trigger contacts

Cons:
-Hopup bucking is being a bit fidgety, only hoping about 1 in 3 bbs properly (it still hops them, just not as far, might be the bbs, i only had blackops bbs to test with)
-Only one steel tooth on piston with non-ported aluminum piston head(I do not recommend this piston for over a 9.6nimh battery and anything past 420 fps. otherwise it will shred)
-Does not accept GATE TITANS or BTC Spectres
-Orange tip came with glue on it, most KWAs dont
-Mock Bolt doesnt always lock back

Other Thoughts:
I was under the impression this gun had a 2-piece hop up and, like a traditional kwa, swiveled open like a real AR or a GBBR. IT DOESNT. DO NOT TRY TO DO THAT EVEN THE MANUAL HAS IT WRONG. The receiver separates like a normal aeg, but you may have to pull the charging handle back to remove the upper.

"Best airsoft rifle out there for anyone trying to go for tbat realistic army / usmc m4 look. Weights great. And with the kwa R.I.S i got from the kwa site it looks awesome. I run it with a real steel red dot sight the aimpoint pro and this thing is dead accurate. Definitely try .28 or .25 with this gun. Easy to adjust and customize and feels like a real m4. Use kwa 120 c magazines. The ones that say for aeg 2.5 or 3 with this rifle. Flash hider is easy to take off btw unlike other guns. Worth every penny. Believe the hype guys. Its awesome

"So just to get straight to the point, this gun is excellent. I haven't had it for long but I'm really liking it so far. Just to note one thing though I didn't buy this gun from evike. The gun has excellent internals and externals. The gun is very sturdy and the PTS grip is a big step up, in terms of comfort, over the standard M4 grip. Performance and accuracy have also been great considering that I've only used it stock. With a 9.6v battery, the ROF is very good. I rarely use full-auto but I'm sure the ROF is excellent with a lipo. The gun is quite accurate with .25 g bb's. I like the adjustable fps feature. Was able to get the fps right on 410 which is the limit of the field I go to usually so I can use heavier bb's and still get an fps above 360. My only problems are two things and they're pretty minor. First off, the design is very basic and boring considering the price. Secondly, it would be cool if KWA also included the Philips screwdriver needed to adjust the fps. My gun out of the box was shooting hot, at about 418 fps and I needed to ask the tech on the field for a screwdriver. Other than those minor things, I highly recommend this gun to intermediate players.

Pros:

-Accuracy is great out of the box
-Externals are very durable and well made
-VPS makes this gun very flexible. Use the quick change spring to put in a weaker spring and you can play this gun in CQB and field with no compromises OR make a DMR

Cons:
-Can't adjust fps out of the box without a long screwdriver
-Very basic design

"Owned this gun for about 3 weeks now internals are excellent running a 11.1 Lipo out the box, flat hopped, and rail upgrade. The one thing missing is deans connectors but not a big issue other than that gun is a 10 out of 10.

"Great gun. I've had no problems with it. It doesn't really need any internal upgrades. Great for pretty much any situation thanks to the adjustable preformance.

"So I received my KWA VM4A1 and this AEG is amazing, and here are my reasons why. This AEG is awesome from top to bottom. I always thought KWA was a great brand, but this specific Airsoft rifle is just great. I served in the Ohio Army National Guard, and when I received my M4 rifle in basic, this AEG looks and feels just like the real rifle. With the battery inserted, and the magazine is filled with bb's, the weight is almost the same. The entire body of the rifle is very well built and the accuracy is unbelievable. Overall, this AEG is worth every penny for the price of 239.99.

"This gun is awesome full metal gear box, Lipo ready (like all kwa's)
Some problems I've had are the limited rail space you have one top rail and that's it also the battery holder is very tight making it very hard,to put a 9.6volt nunchuck battery in, once I got my lipo though it was easier excellent ROF high quality internals and externals shoots like a laser very versatile it can be used from support gunners all the way to sniper the gun is very durable and can take punishment very good starter gun cause the low cost or for veterans the reliability and ROF will draw you in.
