Lonex Spiral Bevel Gear and Helical Pinion Gear

"yes this bevel and pinion make way less noise and are of quality machining and material. If you know what you are doing as a tech once the bevel is shimmed correctly the gears become less screechy. But their is another benefit nobody else is either knows or is telling you. Helical gear sets back in the day were advertised as torque gears because they were able to "support big springs". Now a days because the material and machine process to make standard tooth gears has improved tenfold not to mention how much more powerful motors have become we dont see helical gears much anymore being more expensive to make. This pinion and bevel not only is much more quiet but also brings more torque because of the helical design. this is a no brainer upgrade. get this when you can!

"I installed these on a VFC Mp5

It has a super slick sound and optimally quiet. I notice my amp draw has a more gradual but efficient load.

"The noisiest part of your geartrain is the motor/bevel interface, due to the way the two gears come together under pressure. If your motor cage is perfectly aligned to your gearbox shell, you'll have a good interface angle between the bevel and pinion. Once you've accomplished this, it's a matter of adjusting the bevel height to establish a perfect mesh between the two. You test this by rotating the bevel gear once the box is assembled without any other gears installed. Shim tiny bit by tiny bit until you have exactly enough shimming to reduce any lateral play.

It's a staggering amount of work, sadly. More by a wide margin with these gears than with any other kind of gear. However, if you're looking for precision, it's worth it. In my custom PK-S rifle, this bevel set gives me almost instant trigger response, an almost silent gear lockup under full-auto at near 30 r/sec rate of fire. I've had less than exciting performance with helical gears in the past, but with the fact that motor and bevel gears can be shimmed in two dimensions rather than just one, this mod is one I HIGHLY recommend as an effective way to reduce the noise of your gearbox, but mind that installation is extremely advanced.

"These gears are very quiet and mesh very well if you know how to shim properly.

"the quietest bevel gear I've ever used i have one in every gun i build i
would diffidently recommend for any kind of build

"This gear set is so good I bought a second one for my other gun. I've also installed this gear set in my friend's gun. He loves it. It's super smooth and quiet. Almost all of the noise inside a gearbox comes from the bevel and pinion gear so I'm surprised this is not a popular upgrade.

This gear is extremely durable. I've been running this gear on 13:1 SHS gears and an m130 spring for over a year. There's no wear at all. Still going strong.

The only downside is that it's difficult to shim. It must be perfect. If its noisy, something is not right with your shimming. Make sure you are a competent tech, or have someone who is install it for you. If you have a version 2 gearbox, make sure your motor grip has proper motor alignment. The gearbox dose not support the motor and pinion gear, the grip does.

Note: This gear only works with spur gears that would also work with a standard 10 tooth bevel gear. For example, you cannot use this gear with Siegetek 10:1 gears. :(

"If you want your gearbox to be smooth, get this gear set. It is very strong and quiet. However, this gear is difficult to shim properly. It took me quite a few tries to get is shimmed.
I'm currently running a m130 spring and so for no issues. Excellent gear.
