"I was planning on buying this as a good starting point for VSR-10 modding. But after testing the performance of this rifle I've decided to keep it 100% stock.

It is SUPER accurate right out of the box. Sure the fps isn't astonishing (~290ft/s with .28g) but its very quiet right out of the box and I fear any change would alter that perfect Marui balance.

When I first took a look at the internals and found a lot of polymer parts I was initially a bit disappointed, considering my innate unexplainable need for everything to be stainless steel, but the more I shot it the more I was convinced its just perfect as is. Any more power and it might not be as quiet or last quite as long. The polymer parts are totally fine and help reduce noise at this power level. Smart cost effective engineering from TM

Awesome stock stealth sniper

"I bought this rifle from a different distributor, but it definitely deserves a review here.

As always, amazing quality, looks aesthetically great, typical TM awesomeness.

My primary goal with this rifle was to be the quietest sniper while being able to have superior accuracy with a pretty good range. I play guerrilla warfare style so having a super long range wasn't something I was worried about. Since this is my first G-Spec (but not TM VSR-10), I didn't know the mock suppressor doesn't come with foam inside. I thought it did, but maybe TM accidentally forgot to put foam in mine? Either way, it's okay, because I ordered noise canceled foam and made put it in the included mock suppressor and now it's whisper quiet.

Even though TM has very high quality products, the materials used are still susceptible to breaking, mainly in my opinion, the trigger sears. So I installed a few upgrades. They are:

1. Speed Airsoft VSR-10 Sears
2. DangerWerx Hop Up Arm
3. Laylax 6.03mm X 303mm Inner Barrel
4. Laylax Damper Pads

That's it! The rifle stock, outer barrel, cylinder, spring, spring guide, piston, hop up unit and bucking are all stock. I'm using 0.30g BB's and the accuracy on a calm day is unparalleled. I can hit human size targets all day at 150 feet (measured, not guessing) with ease. The BB's are slow due to low FPS, but the accuracy is amazing. My FPS is a steady 320 which allows me to engage at close range and far range without having to worry about joule limits on fields. I've done close engagements with this rifle and even someone 10 feet away has no idea where the shot came from. Which is EXACTLY what I was going for.

Now I did order a Laylax SP120 spring but it was a bit louder than I wanted. The FPS was a steady 380, but I wanted something quieter so I just stuck with the stock spring. I may experiment with the SP120 spring a little later, but at this time I'm content with stock spring.

I highly recommend this rifle for anyone that's truly looking for that stealth sniper element. It's so quiet, so lightweight and has unparalleled accuracy. For the TM G-Spec and the 4 upgrades listed above, the price came out to $456.00. In my opinion, that's not bad at all. If you include the SP120 spring as well then it's $471.00. I didn't include it because I'm not using it at this time. So I wanted to only include what's being used in the price. I believe this rifle was specifically made to be the quietest sniper out there and if you keep the power output low, then it's dead silent. Another thing to add is the bolt pull is smooth as silk and lightweight. The sears are a 45 degree setup, but it's so smooth it feels as if it's a 90 degree setup. Overall well done TM!

"Yo,

The Tokyo Marui box that the gun came in was very good and kept everything secure. The gun with the silencer attached looks awesome. I did remove the orange tip on the barrel by unscrewing a very tiny allen screw located on the bottom of the orange tip, then wrapped a hand towel around it and used pliers to slowly rotate it back and forth until it slipped off. The gun is incredibly accurate and very quiet thanks to the suppressor. Pulling the bolt back and firing feels nice and smooth. The gun is pretty light which at first I thought I wouldn't like but after using it I am enjoying its lighter weight because it allows me to make snappy target acquisitions with ease, especially with the sling that I put on mine. My brother bought a TM L96 AWS, and while I can appreciate the heftier weight on the L96, I felt drawn to only shoot it using either the bipod or while proning as holding it up is far more cumbersome compared to the agile feel of the VSR-10. The weight on the L96 made me gravitate towards more of a camping play style where as with the VSR-10 I could camp if I wanted to but also had more mobility if I needed it so just keep that in mind if you happen to be considering which to buy between these two guns or other similar options. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and I am enjoying every aspect of the VSR-10. It performs amazing out of the box and can be left stock with no changes necessary but I am definitely looking forward to upgrading mine because the thought of this thing being even better than it already is...well that's just plain awesome.

Have fun with your new rifle.

"My cousin recently got back into airsoft after being in the military for a while. He didn't really have anyone to talk or play with when it came to airsoft so I decided to get into it as well. He recommended this site and so i signed up and started looking for a gun. I grew up in a hunting family so sniping appealed the most to me. I spent a few days looking through my options and reading reviews and I eventually settled on the VSR-10. I ordered some accessories to accompany the rifle as well and submitted my order. It made good time despite shipping from over 2000 miles away. I'll be honest I was skeptical at first, but initial testing went better than I had anticipated. The rifle is solid and sturdy with enough weight to make it feel like a substantial piece of equipment. The bolt has a smooth yet firm pull and there are no catches or grinding between pieces. I was surprised and impressed with how much the suppressor dampens the noise of the shot. The hop-up is easy enough to understand and I'm going to be fine tuning it over the 4th of July when I show my cousin. Only one small concern at the moment and it's that most of the instructions are in Japanese and I don't speak Japanese (but I really should have expected that from the beginning) regardless I am thoroughly impressed with Tokyo Marui's VSR-10 and look forward to some good games played with this rifle.

"Very smooth pull, lightweight, but feels sturdy. Suppressor actually works! Nice mag release. Very quiet gun, you cam hardly hear it shoot. Nice feel when holding it reccomend this to anyone who wants to be a sniper, or for experienced players. Very easy to adjust hopup. I love this gun! So many upgrade parts available too!

"So, I was tossed between building my own rifle or ordering the Novristch sniper.

As you've probably assumed, yes, I bought the vsr-10, and have decided to build my own.
It was the best choice I've ever made! I ordered this rifle from evike and in 3 days (4 with processing), I received it. The packaging job they did was pretty standard. No complaints there.

Now about the gun,

It is absolutely beautiful. If I hadn't set my eyes on upgrading it and bought the parts already, I would leave it stock. Everything from the smooth cocking, to the short trigger pull, to the gorgeous WORKING suppressor, is amazing. I took it out today to a field and used it for about 5 hours, putting about 250 rounds through it. I made consistent 60 ft confirmed kills and 2 100+ foot kills. One of them, I used google maps, I don't know how accurate their measurements are, BUT it came out to be 108 feet. It floated for about 2 seconds and then smack the guy in the torso.

For the record, I used 28's. I could probably use .25's for more range...

Well, I like pros and cons, so here is one.

Pros:
Tokyo Marui Magic.
Groupings are tight with .28s
With hop up turned a few clicks below max, You can hit anything you set your crosshairs on under 80ft. (.28s)
Max range probably over 150 ft?
Light
Smooth bolt pull
Nice Trigger
No wobble

Cons:
Sling mounts are noisy (I took mine off. It was super easy.)
Nothing else!!

"This gun is absolutely amazing with unparalleled accuracy at its price range the only thing you could want more out of it as a little more FPS but even with its low FPS it's able to outshoot snipers with much higher fps to do it's amazing hop up system
by Aaron C. on 09/30/2016
"This is my favorite gun. When people say it is pinpoint accurate, they are not exaggerating. With .25g bbs and a decent scope, your shot goes where you aim it. Out of the box, this shoots 315 fps with .20g bbs, but the low fps doesn't reduce the accuracy. People have told me Tokyo Marui hop-ups are amazing, and I was not disappointed. Without modding the gun at all, you can tune the hop up to make .25g bbs fly with very little arcing. This means you can shoot long range without having to aim way above the target. This alone makes it incredibly satisfying to shoot. I have also tried shooting it with .20g bbs, but they have a noticeable arc to them that .25g bbs just don't have.
The gun feels great. I like how it sits on my shoulder, the grip is simple and feels great, and the front is just the right size for my hand. Everything just naturally wants to go where it is supposed to, making it easy to make snap shots. The bolt is pretty easy to pull, and the gun is VERY quiet. If someone is not listening for it, they will probably miss it. The mock suppressor it comes with is easy to put on and take off, and doesn't affect your accuracy at all. This is a good looking gun. The entire setup is very sleek. I have gotten a lot of compliments about it and lots of people want to try shooting it. The mounting points for slings on this are fine. A lot of people don't seem to like them, but they do the job and don't get in the way.
I thought that the 30 round mags that come with this wouldn't be enough, but I rarely go through 2 whole mags in a 30 minute game. I usually go through one, and get a few shots from the second. Everything about this gun encourages and enables you to make every shot count.
Since this is a sniper rifle, I would suggest a good scope. The 3-9x40 scope in the "You may also need" section is the one shown in the picture. It works well, even if it has a couple things that annoy me, and looks great.

I only have two complaints, and they are very minor. The first is that the gun is borderline too long with the suppressor on. When I am holding it one handed to use a sidearm, I tend to tap the suppressor on the ground if I am not careful. This is when I am holding it by the grip and it is hanging down. I only hold it like that when I need to quick draw my sidearm with my left hand. I am only 5' 10 1/2", so a taller person might not have this problem.
The second issue is this gun is definitively NOT for left handed people. The bolt is designed to be pulled by the right hand, and that is supposed to be your trigger hand. I have tried shooting this left handed because I try to be ambidextrous, but I had to reach way back to pull the bolt, and the back of the bolt kept hitting my thumb. I had to move my hand to pull it back all the way. Keep in mind, this is unmodified. I don't know if you could modify it to be left handed, but I don't intend to since I am right handed anyway.

Pros:
Hop-up is simply amazing. The bbs fly super straight and level, and the hop-up is easy to adjust.
The gun looks and feels great. It naturally moves to a good firing position.
Incredibly quiet.

(kind-of) Cons:
A bit long with the suppressor on.
Right handed ONLY.

If you plan on being a dedicated sniper, this gun is well worth the cost.

"This gun is simply amazing
Highly accurate
It is upgradable but you might have some problems with the cylinder head if your trying to upgrade the spring
Very durable gun
Nice magazine for a sniper rifle
All an all I would recommend this gun to anybody that plays airsoft... Definitely worth the money

"This is by far hands down the best sniper rifle I have ever owned. I have had a TSD SD 96, a shadow ops but this rifle is just on a different level of quality. From the very first moment I opened the package to my very first bolt pull I have to say I was highly impressed. The bolt pull is the lightest and smoothest ever you can't get any better than this. The rifle is one of the most silent if not the most silent when it's fired, and if you attach the silencer tokyo marui includes it's good night.

Pro
Highly accurate 100 ft
Light weight
Silent
Smooth bolt pull
It's a tokyo marui

Cons
Fps needs to be upgraded to be effective

Could not really find anything wrong with this rifle apart from it's fps being way to low because of the 1 joule law in japan, but if you buy this rifle this won't be a problem because your a serious sniper and your going to upgrade it anyways. Even if you left the rifle the way it is, it is still far superior to a lot of other clone rifles out there that have a higher fps. You pay for what you get and trust me tokyo marui won't disappoint you

"i just got this gun today opened it up and could tell its a pretty nice gun. this gun comes with a top rail for a scope and although the fps is low its pretty accurate if you adjust the hop up. hop is very easy to access on the side of the barrel. i suggest upgrading the fps and you will have a very nice sniper. overall pretty good gun i have been playing airsoft at courses and with pros that have had this gun and they said with upgrades you will have a decent sniper.

"this gun is amazing!!! even though the fps is low you can get upgrade springs for it and other parts. and even though it is expensive it will probably last longer than any other company like jg. and the tsd m700 magazines work with the gun so you can get mags that feed the same as the jg bar10 magazines cheaper

"Hopefully I can update this review if things go well with customer support and I get what I actually ordered.

I received my item after some waiting for the additional processing, noticed that the box was crumpled and not sealed. Opened to find items had moved in shipping (guess at that point).

Further inspection showed that the mock suppressor had fairly decent foam sticky tape applied and most parts in box had very specific cutouts and tiedowns to keep everything in place...the box I received had been opened. Looking at the mock suppressor and manual, the VG-10 x 3 and VG-9 x 4 parts were removed and the box was hastily repacked incorrectly. Not sure if other parts were robbed from this order, but reached out to Evike support in the hopes of getting this sorted.
