The Lee-Enfield SMLE CO2-Powered steel BB airgun is part of the "Brothers In Arms" series of replica, iconic 20th Century combat weapons. The Lee-Enfield was the British Army's standard rifle from 1895 up until 1957, when it was replaced by the venerable L1A1 SLR. The SMLE, short for "Short Magazine Lee-Enfield" was loved by most troopers in the trenches of The First World War, and followed the Commonwealth forces into World War 2, until replaced by the updated No.4 Mk1.

About Air Guns (Not Airsoft)

It's up to YOU to know the laws in your state, county, and city, and to fully comply with them. You must be 18 years or older to buy any air or airsoft gun.

Air guns are not airsoft or toy guns. They are recommended for adult use only and by youth under adult supervision. Misuse or negligence may cause serious injury or death.

1) ALWAYS keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. There are several safe "carries" depending on the situation. Treat your air gun like it is a real firearm.

2) Treat every gun as if it were loaded. Never point at anything you do not intend to shoot. Always keep the air gun on safe until you are ready to shoot.

3) Only load or cock a gun prior to shooting. Do not store a loaded gun.

4) Know your target and what lies beyond. Always aim in a SAFE DIRECTION. Always keep the muzzle of the air gun pointed in a SAFE DIRECTION.

5) Anyone shooting or near a shooter should wear safety glasses.

6) All persons near a shooter should remain behind the shooter and the direction of the muzzle. Never climb or jump with a gun. You can't control the direction of the muzzle if you stumble or fall.

7) Avoid ricochet. Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The pellet may bounce off or ricochet and hit someone or something you had not intended to hit.

8) Keep the muzzle clear. Never let anything obstruct the muzzle of a gun. Don't allow the muzzle to come in contact with the ground.

9) Guns not in use should always be unloaded. Store the air gun in a secure location. Before you store your air gun, remove the magazine, make sure there is no magazine inserted, no rounds in the chamber, and make sure the gun is decocked.

10) Never brandish your air gun or airsoft gun in public. Do not brandish or display any gun in public - it may confuse people and may be a crime. Police and others may think it is a firearm.

11) Do not change the coloration and markings to make it look more like a firearm. That is dangerous and may be a crime.

"It's a pricy item from a lesser known brand. I have to admit I was suspicious at first.
As it turns out, I'm exceptionally surprised by the quality of this product. My item is intact and smooth after ~150 rounds. I think it's a great product worth the price.

It says made in China and I think it's similar to a uk model with some youtuber reviewing it.

I have complaints about the manual though. It's not very clear in some crucial steps. Like the magazine co2 insertion, the actual method should be quickly screw in after hearing the hissing to stop the co2 leaking, instead of the simple instruction "screw in the co2 canister".

The magazine is loosely attached to the gun, is another problem. You need to learn the rhythm of clipping.

Loading bbs is a bit tricky I haven't yet figured out completely. The entrance can be jammed when 2 or more bbs are dumped in, I have to carefully put 1 bb in, shake it down into the feeder, then next bb.

With all the flaws above, it has smooth action. Sight adjustment is legit. All metal and wood gives a trusty weight. Single co2 canister means less waste for casual plink. A very impressive replica.

"I received my well-packaged SMLE about five days after placing the order, very impressed with Evike's logistics and such. I had the opportunity to fire it side by side with a real Lee Enfield and the mass and heft are identical. I waited until firing a couple of hundred bb rounds before making observations, as follow:

The wood stock and forearm are well fitted, and I appreciate that the barrel band can be removed and the whole piece readily disassembled. The bolt and receiver are solid steel and spot-on to the originals, and the clip is almost identical, quite impressive given the redesign needed to accommodate the CO2 and bbs.

Less impressive is the fit of the magazine into the receiver - unlike other similar models it does not secure with a reassuring snap but is somewhat loose and wobbly. However once the mag is correctly secured (which takes a lot of practice) and the bolt is treated gently, the rifle fires with acceptable accuracy and precision for backyard can-smashing.

But in comparison with the Moisin-Nagant from another manufacturer, the SMLE falls short - the Moisin bolt action is super smooth and reliable, the mag does not misbehave, and groups are much closer. Not to mention that the Moisin comes with sling and bayonet!

However these are quibbles, and if all you want is a working Lee-Enfield replica then you will not be disappointed with the Big Bang model. A well-made replica sling is available from IMA for $20. Can someone please look into the bayonet question; of many replica bayonets available on line, which will fit the lugs on the Big Bang SMLE?

"So after 3 returns I have the Enfield MKIII SMLE BB rifle I originally asked for and I am not disappointed!
If you collect WWII replica air guns this is a must have.
You can pay more for a M1944 Mosin Nagant with a faux wood stock. Or you can purchase this Enfield with full on real wood for considerably less.
If you receive it from Evikes Texas warehouse that's a double plus.
Evike honors their return policy and a dedicated to customer satisfaction.
