"I have run this rig religiously for several years now. I bought it originally as the base of my kit and built around it utilizing the placard system and it works phenomenally. The best feature about this carrier is the ability to take it off of my carrier and run it by itself on days that are particularly hot, or during downtime at long milsim games. I have mine arranged for M4 style mags and carry a spare Glock magazine and a multitool, the admin pouch is great for anything from maps to notepads and cellphones. Paired with a battle belt I end up carrying 5 M4 and 2 Glock magazines, which are more than enough to keep the loadout low profile and well stocked; and if I need more space, I jump the rig to my plate carrier.

"So far so good. Great system for light or SMG loadout. Nice having control in the front rather than straining to get to the side pouches. Only complaint is...the ranger green I ordered came with black plastic buckles rather than tan/khaki as seen on the pictures.

"Excellent as a chest rig, lacking as a placard.
That about sums it up, really. As a standalone chest rig, it's hard to beat the D3CRM's perfect balance of utility and low footprint. I have an entire IFAK (real medical supplies) trauma shears notebook lighter sharpie pen stuffed into the main pouch, with room to spare. The inside of the main pouch's front flap is lined with loop velcro, so you can stick in any hook-based organising platforms you like. Huge plus there.
However, its great carrying capacity is also its downfall as a placard. With the rig fully loaded up, the hook velcro on the back has problems maintaining full contact with plate carriers. Under the weight of 3 GBBR (or loaded real steel) magazines, there is a significant risk of the rig undocking from your PC's loop field and dangling freely from the buckles...especially if you're getting in and out of the prone a lot.
You can fix this by either sewing more hook onto the back of the rig, or by using the full swiftclip system to essentially tie it down. But more velcro doesnt really guarantee that it won't undock under load. And of course, running 4 clips will eat up cummerbund real estate and make donning/doffing that much more of a hassle.
If you're just running AEG midcaps and you're not planning on heavily loading the main pouch, this probably won't be a problem for you at all. Don't let this one little edge case scenario stop you from considering the D3CRM--it's an incredible platform and well worth every penny.
