"Got his gun (rifle length) as a gift from a freind recently and just had the chance to play with it so i wanted to share my opinion here. For the price this gun is an absolute steal (if your buying it on sale) which it often is.

what I liked
-performance out of the box is very good
-shoots pretty hard (havnt chronoed yet)
-Very good range and tight groupings
-excellent trigger response and rof
-very well constructed (its as brick)
-very pleasing athsetically
-rock solid extending stock

My cauviats
-as others have stated very limited battery space (I did manage to squeeze a tri-cell 11.1 butterfly lipo though)
-weight (its kinda hefty ie; its a brick)
-stock is awkward fully collapsed and in the second position but i didnt mind it while its fully extended
-no sling points (your going to have to hand carry this all day unless you do some funky rigging)
-railing is kinda sharp (littery knicked myself while installing the battery)

Overall I love this gun so much already and and im itching to feild it again, it performs very well and id highly recomend it as it performs very well and its only real draw backs are in design choice if you can work around those you will be very happy

"The evike listing advertises that the price for this Classic Army SCARAB is normally around $300 but it's always on sale for around $190 so don't buy it if it's over $190!

I purchased this gun a few months ago and overall it's an awesome gun! Out of the box you immediately notice the all metal construction, which causes this gun to be very heavy (around 8 pounds) but that's to be expected with any all metal gun. This gun looks amazing and feels really good when holding it, however the PDW style stock is a little small and can be uncomfortable at times. I like that the SCARAB has a functioning bolt catch when you open the door to access the hopup, and it has a very satisfying sound when you release the catch and the door springs back into place. The only major complaint I have with the outside design of this gun is the battery compartment is in the handguard and is difficult to figure out how to get the battery to fit and it is EXTREMELY TIGHT. Evike recommends a butterfly battery with this gun and I see why! I got a small lipo stick battery and it barely fits.

Performance-wise this gun is incredible for the price! Out of the box it's shooting LASERS. The fps isn't anything crazy but definitely more than enough for outdoor play. The SCARAB is extremely accurate up to 150 feet while still being comfortably reliable much past 200 feet! The rotary style hopup is easy to adjust too. Full auto on this thing RIPS! For a stock 18:1 gearbox the rps is pretty impressive with 20+ rps maybe even 25 which is plenty no matter what anyone says. The mag is comes with is a high-cap that has a very easy to wind wheel but I found that the mag sometimes can't keep up with the high rps but just get some mid-caps and you won't have an issue. The trigger pull is nice but not too short but if you spam a lot on semi the motor gets pretty hot and you can feel it through the pistol grip. The stock MOSFET and ETU (electronic trigger unit) enable this gun to handle 11.1v lipos without worry but the programmable trigger options the ETU provides is very narrow and not very useful in my opinion. It comes wired to a deans connector which is definitely an upgrade over a small tamiya connector.

In conclusion the Classic Army SCARAB AEG is AMAZING for the price and I definitely recommend! It is on par with more modern mid-tier AEGs on the market and even outperforms a lot of them!

PROS:

Price (buy when it's on sale for $190 which is almost always)

Performance
- Good FPS
- AMAZING RPS!
- Extremely accurate

Full Metal (weight could be a con for some but full metal is definitely a pro for me)

Good Internals

Comes stock with a MOSFET so you can run those 11.1v lipos (wired to Deans)

CONS:

Battery space is very limited

PDW stock can be uncomfortable

Motor gets hot after a lot of firing on semi but that can be upgraded easily in the future.

Hope this was helpful!

"The Classic Army Scarab is probably one of the more unique airsoft guns I own to date. This one is not a replica of a real firearm so it has its own unique design that quite frankly is very appealing especially when holding it, the closest you would get is probably the Kilo/M433... IYKYK. NOW... there are some things that I absolutely love and things I despise about this thing, lets get into it!

PROS-
- Great feel and design
- Shoots well (check cons)
- Front wired but its not a huge drawback as it fits batteries relatively easily. Just hand thread your screws first before tightening in case you cross thread or force down a battery that doesnt fit properly.
- Easy to remove the orange tip to add a muzzle or a tracer
- Wired to DEANS! With Programmable mosfet options! Always a
- Nice weight to it (its not THAT heavy like some people are saying)
- Overall looks cool and has plenty of support for attachments and a quick change spring system.

CONS-
- Hop up/Barrel/Bucking/Nub are atrocious... you will almost 100% NEED TO UPGRADE those parts. Mine shot hard left out of the box and had to immediately go in to fix it. The nub is not even, barrel was twisted, the arm that holds the nub isnt perfect, barrel cuts are not good at all. Overall just horrible machining and its sloppy to make something that bad and ask for a $300 price tag. (Luckily I got it for nearly 50% off)
- Trigger is meh, not horrible but doesnt feel very snappy.
- I really wish they utilized the potential of the electronic trigger and added binary and high sensitivity but they did not sadly.
- And my biggest gripe... the m4 mag compatability is HORRID! I cant believe nobody is talking about this. They design a gun to work with m4 mags but almost every m4 mag I have doesnt work because the magazine port is thinner than most aeg's so you have to use the exact same mags as the high cap almost. And some fit but are so snug you have to tap it rack it! Haha! Its a joke but its crazy how even in 2017 they couldn't figure that design flaw out? Oh well...

Final verdict.... Do NOT buy this gun full price, there are tons and tons of better options with way more potential than this... BUT 50% off and you want something to get thats different from your average m4? This may be a good pickup for you.

"So to start the SCARAB is a really cool-looking rifle but it has a few downsides that have kinda thrown me off on it

So the only downsides I can see with the gun are the battery compartment being so small and the stock being very very uncomfortable. My last issue with the gun is the stock that mine got completely stuck in the collapsed position, while yes you can fix it by unscrewing the plate on the bottom of it but that completely messes with the point of the PDW style. If there is a way to have a better style stock on this gun I'll figure it out somehow but beyond that the SCARAB functions great and kinda reminded me of the SCARAB from Crysis 2.
