Retro Arms Polymer 16 Steel Teeth Polymer Piston Body

"this is my favorite piston to use. very strong material with pickup tooth support on the back. angle of engagement is super easy with this, no need to file or dremel down teeth.

"I heard some bad review of the earlier batch of this piston but none the less gave this piston a try. So far so good in my Krytac Gate Titan Krytac Spr build. It's the only piston I tried that is a direct drop in after market piston for a Krytac gear box. The omitted last tooth and shaved second to last tooth makes it hassle free for AOE correction. I've tried SHS swiss cheesed, Lonex red, and Kratos but most of them seem fits too tightly on the rails or the rack is too low and cause excess drag on the sector gears for a krytac. After around 30k round I disassembled the gear box and the piston still seems fine. I did ran into PME twice during that period and broke two bevel gears. However the piston seemed to have survived the incidents despite it being full stroke. Make sure to glue the rack to reduce chance of failure and short stroke the sector gear for RPS higher than 25 on M115 spring.

Build: Krytac SPR 400fps Gate titan with M115 spring full stroke (probably should have short stroked 1 teeth). Have put ASG 22k, 30k, 40K, Tienly 30K, Action Army 30K in the gun. Anything more than 30K ran into PME in full auto and got the motor hot very quickly so I settled for 30K and 22K motors.

"Very nice piston. Increased the performance of my AEG. Durable, high quality, robust, and the best: Low price. The teeth are very precise and fits all models. I suggest that you buy a good piston head to use.

"I had bought this piston as a upgrade part in a riffle I own. I have had no issues period with this piston. This and the SHS ported pistons are my go-to pistons now for any build I do.

PROS:

Teeth are already shaved down for needed AOE correction.
Nice solid polymer body
Durable steel rack (finish tends to wear after about 5k cycles)
$14 for a quality piston
The Rail grooves fit well in Krytac and Retro Arms Gearboxes with no issues

CONS:

The finish on the teeth wore off on the last tooth when I had this installed in a high speed build. (not a big deal for me) Thats it.

Overall a fantastic choice in an upgrade part.

"I have the older gen piston with the white plastic which I hear was more durable plastic wise and metal rack wise than this newer one. Have no issues with it. Make sure to epoxy the rack on.

Pros: SHS rack compatible, Almost indestructible, AOE pre corrected.

Cons: the plastic itself is picky when choosing what greases you use. If the wrong grease is applied it will break down the plastic. Look up what grease to use or not use.
