Matrix Tactical 30mm SPR Type QD Double Scope Mount

"The one star reviewer must have got a lemon. I received this scope mount second hand with a used NC Star VISM Evolution 1.1-4x24 scope. This mount fits perfectly, the rings firmly grip the barrel of the scope and the QD mechanism works without a hitch.

I found that by loosening and tightening the hex nuts that hold the QD levers in place you can adjust the force that they apply to the rail. When I first took the mount out of its box, the levers didn't grip my rail at all. But, after locking them and tightening the hex nuts, the mount tightly held on to the rail and released without a problem.

This replica fits scopes with 30mm tube diameters just fine. It locks the scope in tight, very satisfactorily. I have noticed, however, it does not attach completely securely to the upper receiver of some guns. Now, the movement is miniscule, and only happens when forced. The mount does not wobble, it just has the slightest half millimeter of movement when pushed on hard. Me just being nit-picky, after all, it is just a Chinese replica. Looks fantastic though, despite the lack of trademarks.

I'd recommend it to people using short dot setups, and in general, though it does come in a bit pricey.

"I took this to milsim west 2 weekends ago to patrol challenge 2 and the hex nut with the latches both backed out on me within the first night... its lasted me for pick up games but not for bigger events like milsim west

"I have never been able to get this mount not to wobble. The levers are fine, they can be tightened with the included wrench, but they do come loose. The scope rings and the mount are two separate pieces, and they cannot be tightened down enough with an Allen key to keep them from wobbling. Ive noticed up to 3mm of play and its extremely loose because of this. The screws strip when you try to tighten it any more than that.

"I had high hopes for this mount...and I was let down. I attempted to mount my NC star vism short in this mount. The mount does NOT fit the scope at all, with all the mounting hardware in place and tight the scope can movercome freely in all directions. So I'm left with using electrical tape to shim the gap...and that is still a task because when you shim the rings it creates a gap at the mount and then the rings move around in the base.

The hardware is your typical Chinese metal and is easily rounded and stripped.

The ONLY positive is that the base doestrogen mount nicely to the rail on my replica.
