SUSAT L85 Type Rifle Scope w/ QD Weaver Mount for L85 Rail by Matrix

"Bought this and installed it on my G&G L85A2. It fit the wacky L85 rail like a glove. Makes the gun look correct, and, more importantly, it is a legitimate add-on for improving your skirmish experience.

Since there was no instruction booklet included, it took a bit to figure out how to sight the scope in. Once I sussed out the scope adjustments (all external) and tightened everything up, I was amazed at how much this sight aids in putting BBs where they need to go. I could not be happier with it.

Eye relief on this scope is VERY short -- be aware of this when making choices about which eye pro you're wearing.

Shortly after I installed my SUSAT, a friend dropped my L85 hard onto gravel. Replica or no, the SUSAT did not break, nor did it lose zero, and the gun/scope combo went on to claim many hits at mid-to-long(ish) range for the rest of the day.

Again, totally satisfied.

"Realistic replica 4.9/5 FITS THE ICS L85 SERIES

+ Very sturdy optic which completes the look of my L85 nicely

+ Fits the ICS L85A2 and L86 easily with no wobble and no modification (standard L85 rail - WILL NOT FIT 20mm Weaver) This is achieved by loosening the friction pad on the SUSAT using the thumb screws, removing the carry handle sights, (opening the battery hatch on the gun to do so) and sliding on the SUSAT and tightening the thumb screws wherever the sight feels most comfortable.

+ Comes in a nice box with adjustment hex keys - with foam padding

+ 90% solid metal, everything important is metal, only plastic is the thumb screws and the rubber eye piece

+ Magnification is accurate and sight picture is wide and clear

+ Actually has the Obelisk and its illuminated - works great with and without illumination

- No idea how to take the batteries out - i suspect its a matter of removing the base

- Very close eye relief (can be bad for some)

+ Front glass appears to be thick and is tinted slightly green (front only, does not affect sight picture)

+ Secondary iron sights are sturdy and due to the way in which the optic is aligned, it zeroes to the same place as the obelisk

I honestly think this is the sturdiest sight that i have ever used, and its much better than using the standard carry handle sights that the L85/6 comes standard with - the magnification gives you a nice edge both for accuracy and target acquisition. The SUSAT isn't going to be for everyone, but its a great sight for the L85 series.

"For the money it's a good quality replica. This one features the obelisk-style reticle like the real version of the Susat, but the center of the obelisk reticle is semi-transparent so it doesn't cut into my field of view nearly as much as I had expected. Zeroing was a bit confusing, and you need both a flat head screwdriver and a 12mm wrench to do it. Also, there are two hex screws that hold the scope to the mount which were loose enough to let the scope move a bit side to side. These tightened easily and the scope has been rock solid since. The worst part, and why I docked it one star, is that I needed to file some of the rail clamp in order for the scope to not slide on my ICS L85. Not a huge deal with a dremmel, but kind of a pain. One other knock against it is that the illumination seems a bit bright to me, and even on the lowest setting the whole field of view has a red glow making it hard to see anything in the dark.

Pros:
Solid build, (once the screws are tightened)
Clear optics, especially for the price
Obelisk reticle, with clear(ish) center beam, faithful to the real one
Maintains zero from what I can tell
Completes the look of my L85

Cons:
Needed to file the rail to securely fit the ICS L85
Zeroing is non-intuitive and requires a wrench
Screws/bolts for zeroing strip easily
When illuminated, the whole field of view is red.

"Bought this about a year ago and just now got to do a review the sight is expensive and not very good it’s original to the L85 Susat but for some reason it didn’t fit my We L85 it wobbles like crazy I would not recommend this sight u could get a much nicer sight for your L85 you’d only need a conversation rail since the one on the gun is proprietary to the Susat

"Photos are not accurate to what i received, does NOT fit a standard L85/L86 mount. Had to order a different mounting rail for it to fit onto my ICS L85a2.

"Pros:
Solid feeling sight.
Easy to install, intuitive to zero

Cons:
1x magnification (I thought is would be 4x)
Short short sight box
Abysmal internal construction (will get into this below)

So, this sight turned out to be a big disappointment for me, not sure if I got a dud or what. Attached it and attempted to zero it, on zeroing I found that there was a HUGE discrepancy between the internal obelisk reticle and the irons up top. On top of that, I found that with the windage adjustments I had I couldn't get thing remotely close to where I needed them.

So I did some digging. Tearing the sight down was interesting, this is a Prism scope meaning that the magnification/sight picture are provided by a prism inside of the scope body.

I believe that the prism is actually off center/not optically correct in mine causing the issue of not being able to sight it in with regular windage adjustments.

Testing this by physically moving the prism around confirmed my suspicions.

Now on to the internals. Illumination is provided by a few button cell batteries in the scope housing under a cover. The material used to hold the prism in place is the most brittle, crappy plastic I have ever encountered. It fails at the slightest torque. I'm working on 3d printing something more robust that will actually not fail at the first sign of torque.

TLDR; maybe not so good QC, or maybe I just got a dud, who knows. Bad internals. Bad eye relief, 1x magnification makes target acquisition on a large field not good.

If you want the SUSAT look, this may be a good sight for you; but I would look elsewhere. That or get a rail adapter so you can run different optics on the gun. I'm not at all impressed with what I got.
