CYMA Aluminum Receiver SVD-S Airsoft AEG High Power Sniper Rifle w/ Fixed Stock

"If you want a great, reliable, upgraded, accurate and High FPS then this is the gun for you. This is my second CYMA SVD, I previously purchased the CYMA Paratrooper SVD (shorter barrel, folding stock) and it's great also! Had it for 10 years and still running strong.

Some general thoughts on the pre-upgraded CYMA SVD:

- Quick change spring is awesome!
- Didn't shoot the FPS promised in the specifications, shot 405 - 410, so I replaced the stock spring with new M150 springs - I tried 2 different vendors, one got me a 425-435 FPS, the other got me a 445-450 FPS, results will vary. Not sure what the problem was there but now performing like a champ.
- Out of the box I got good distance, but with the addition of a flat hop I got a much, much better and much flatter trajectory, well worth the $6 for the flat hop.
- Getting the hand guards off and on are still a pain, just like the CYMA Paratrooper SVD, and so don't rely on any fast field battery changes, if you have to change battery you'll be out of the game for several minutes. I use a butterfly style lipo battery.
- It's light and well balanced for the length and all metal body construction. The polymer body seems plenty tough enough, but you can get real wood if you want the extra costweightcare.
- I can use the same mags from my CYMA Paratrooper SVD which is great. I normally carry mid-caps with one fully loaded high-cap as my "go out in a blaze of glory" mag.
- You need a long sling because one sling point is at the end of the hand guards and the other is at the end of the butt stock.
- The barrel is highly polished and looks like 6.03, so you really don't need an upgraded barrel to get good performance.
- The Hop-up is a wheel and click type and really awesome! It's easy to fine tune this hop! (BTW, more hop is clockwise.)
- I bought a replacement upper receiver cover with tactical rail and then added an ACOG scope. I like these for the wide aperture which lets me engage fast moving target better than the traditional scopes, but I've also used a low powered zoom scope and that works well too. In the past I have used the traditional SVD Scope (Airsoft version), but they weren't worth the cost or hassle. Again, results will vary.

As one of the very few quality DMR's this pre-upgraded CYMA SVD is just awesome. If you want to play your team marksmen, this rifle will not disappoint you.

"For anyone who has hesitated to get a CYMA SVD because of outdated internals, this could be the answer to your problems. In the past, I have owned 2 other CYMA SVDs, and I have always found them disappointing in terms of price and out-of-the-box performance. I was excited to see an updated version of the SVD come out. Internally there are several minor changes, including bearings instead of bushing on the gearbox, a new air nozzle, and the most significant change of all, A QUICK CHANGE SPRING GUIDE!! I have wanted a quick change spring for years, and CYMA has finally answered my prayers. In terms of external differences, they are relatively minor in comparison to the internal changes. The biggest and most noticeable change is the stock; honestly, this stock is much better than both the wooden and older polymer stocks on the older models. The cheek riser can be rotated out of the way allowing the shooter to actually use the iron sights should they need to. What is included in the box also changed from the older SVD models. My gun came with an 80-round midcap rather than the old high caps the gun used to ship with. In terms of negatives, the only thing I can think of would be that it's still wired to small Tamiya instead of deans, but that's an easy fix

"Putting 4 stars here because my svd came with a slightly crooked outer barrel and the mag catcher is kinda weak, it just takes a light tug and the mag comes out. The inner barrel is straight as the bb flight path is normal. Performance wise I shot 20bbs to prep it for cleaning, the accuracy was terrible as the barrel had so much oil residue from production and double feeding problems (expected). After a good 5 cleans I got the oil out and shot it again and it was shooting like a dream. The feeding problems are still there but ONLY if you spam it like an m4 (it's a sniper/dmr don't spam it lol). Other than that, once cleaned and the bucking settled in the stock performance is really good for the price, hitting 150ft with .20g no issue with hop up tuned properly. With .30g+ 220ft is no issue but not bolt action accurate. If you want more accuracy, I suggest upgrading the bucking but as for me I only see myself upgrading after the internals have worn down.
