"Out of the box looks really good.

Almost all of the gun is plastic. Seems durable enough for field use. I'm a little concerned about long-term durability of the Para stock, but that's easily replaceable if needed.

V2 mechbox is standard design and could be upgraded with off-the-shelf parts. I'm planning to put a P* in there.

Light weight makes this SAW a winner!

"Once you adjust the hop up it works great and accurately. However, it will need quite a few upgrades and tinkering once you get it. Very, very low battery space. But the gun does look cool and you get what you pay for.

Pros:
Looks great
Light for an LMG
Accurate and decent fire rate
Fits M4 mags

Cons:
Low battery space
Barrel can shake loose and needs adjusting
Box mag that came with it broke

"I have only had this gun for a few months now but I have played 10+ games without many issues

Pros: weight (compared to the a&k version)
Feeds well
Feels a bit like an ebb
Good fps
Metal gearbox
Railed upper receiver

Meh: box mag has bad wiring but soldering fixed it
Hop up does not have a nub
O ring on hop up is garbage

Cons:does NOT fit most aftermarket m249 parts
Accuracy sucks but a tightbore barrel is great
Motor heats up very fast
Does not take all m4 mags
Does not fit any other hop up
Almost all externals are not replaceable

Overall good buy until the externals break then you're screwed

"So I decided to take mine apart. Very disappointed. Not 20/1 gears, I counted they are standard 18/1. And the piston head seems to not have ball bearings and looks to be riveted together, no screw. Super strange. This gear box is nothing special. I appreciate the radiusing tho, saves me some time lol. Good compression everywhere but the air nozzle. I will probably be replacing the piston so I can get a new piston head. Pretty sure they're stuck together unless I wanna break them apart. 16awg rewire, mosfet, t plugs and a new barrel, bucking and lower spring it should be ripping faster then 10 rps. But all in all 220 bucks for a nice body and a decent shell isn't all that bad. Just wish they didn't lie about the gears. Funny how I had to break my warranty to find out they lied, to not be able to get a replacement because I had to take it apart to find out. Thanks evike. Your lucky I'm my own tech hahah

"Overall a very well made gun. Having used a full-weight M249 a few years ago it definitely lives up to its claim of reducing the weight of the original. Shoots very well out of the box too.

Pros:
Lightweight
Good range and FPS out of the box (tested with .25g bbs and a 12v battery)
Collapsible stock for a more compact weapon when needed
Underbarrel and side 20mm rails
Easy to change barrel

Cons:
Hopup has to be accessed by raising the feed tray, making adjusting shots while shooting difficult because of the tray's obstruction of the sights
Para stock requires a bit of muscle to switch between extended and retracted, you may feel like you're going to break the stock the first few times you adjust it
Para stock pins need to be hammered into position and don't budge easily
Very, very small battery space behind the gearbox and under the feed tray*
Stock bipod feels cheap and is difficult to lock into an unused position

Overall, the cons are mostly cosmetic and don't cause problems once you get the gun onto the field.

*If you want to use a bigger battery or don't want to buy the one Evike recommends for this gun, the stock wiring can be brought through a small hole to the right and rear of the feed tray so you can wire up a bigger battery and attach it to the side of the gun via tape or whatever else you see fit to use. This was my biggest gripe about the gun but finding that hole in the back of the tray made a world of a difference.

"Recieved the high fps para model from evike box of awesome. I have a mk2 a and k and unloaded this one is easily 8lbs lighter. Finish is not bad for a plastic gun and it chronoed right at 385 for me at 18rps on a 11.1 lipo.

Biggest complaint is the stock pins are press in and do not come installed. Also this does not come with a battery and there is no obvious place to put one. Manual recommends some bizzare looking butterfly style but your best bet is to just extend the wiring and hanging it off the rail in front.

Overall it seems ok, but i wish it came with the propritary battery.

"Just got mine today. So far it looks amazing. I bought the separate box mag for it aswell which fits nice and firm. but i do have a few problems....

My M249 will not accept any other M4 mag other than the one it came with (even tho i got the box mag) and the stock had to be trimmed for the pins to fit it. Also the stock is hard to pull out and thought i broke it when i tried. also my charging handle came off (even tho it has no function) overall its ok. But i just wish there was a little more metal.

"I purchased the 400 fps version and it has never chrono'd at 400. It is currently chronoing at around 250, never peaked 300 and that was testing with both .28s and .32s
I was advised it could be a compression issue. Nevertheless, I can't effectively run it until I open it up.
As for the gun itself, it has the cool factor but thats about it. If you didn't know, 249 sights suckkkkkk I highly advise you use an optic. Getting a drum that works perfectly can be a challenge as well. The MK46 variant has the collapsible stock but the "buffer tube" does not act as battery space. Good luck fitting any nunchuck, stick, or brick style batteries. I had to buy a Matrix 7.4v PEQ style battery and that fits perfectly.
Overall LMGs can be a big commitment and this one is no different. Be prepared to buy aftermarket parts, but that is part of the fun I suppose

"Review: Para 350 FPS / Support Package

After two years of GETTING SUM with the featherweight Para 350 FPS LMG. This is my honest review of the gun. However please note, I have been playing airsoft for about two to three years so my extensive knowledge on internal upgrades is very limited. This is my review as a newbie.

Let's start with the cons

1. The battery compartment space is absolutely awful. I was successful in getting the following batteries in the 249 without damaging the battery.
2. The box mag that it comes with is awful as well the box mag had issues with feeding. I ended up purchasing this box mag and so far so good as of the last 6 months.
3. Right out of the box the FPS was shooting at about 325 FPS with .25 bbs however after the second or third time of use it dropped down to about 290 FPS. I ended up purchasing a new m110 spring to up it a bit higher.

4. Even though this thing is made of polymer I highly don't recommend slapping a foregrip on here as it is somewhat wobbly and can break the rail easily.

5. The bipod is also terrible too. It ended up breaking on me within the first game.

Now let's get the goods out on the tray.

1. The 249 is super light as this is made out of polymer. When the ref's hit the countdown you'll be able to book it with this thing. As a support gunner, you gotta support your team and not be way in the back trying to catch up to them. Since it is light holding this gun for a while isn't too bad if you're trying to hold a corner as well.

2. It's a machine gun... you'll give sum and they'll get sum and with an affordable price point so live, love, and laugh.

3. IT TAKES M4 MAG's, if your box mag is just not working on you. Fear not you can slap an m4 mag in there and still GET SUM or mooch of your friend. So let that thang rip. Make sure you give your friends the joy to say LAST MAG as you most likely will be burning their mid caps.

All in all, for the price, this thing is a blast aside from the dookie box mag and battery compartment. The price is great and even better when it is on epic deals. I would say wait until this is on sale to get it and do not get the support package s it is not worth it. If you got the dough I would consider getting an LMG that has a better gearbox as this one is a v2 gearbox. But if you want to spend a little less and be a saw gunner DO IT. I hope this review was helpful but GET SUM!

"The gun is good but my main problem are the box mags, they are cheap and always break. Ive gone through 2 and both broke on the first day
by JENNIFER P. on 04/26/2022
"The gun works great, I have used it many times and is good for its money if not better. However I cannot say the same about the 2500 round box mag. The main issue I have with it is that is broke the second time I used it and it has had many prior problems like the line holding the bbs popping out. The time it broke was when the whole top of it completely fell apart, the electronic reader’s black wire came out, the bb stop fell apart and bbs got stuck in it. It also does not fit very great onto the gun and will pop out frequently

"This gun is great because I won it and a 45acp in the BOA but...

First off it jammed up the first fight I was in which was frustrating but Evike did a great job with the warranty and I received a new one within a month. That gun worked great so I added the mk2 stock for a big battery and a barrel extension so I wouldn’t shoot the bipod when it is up. Then the bipod broke. Snapped right off during a fight when I was laying support for my squad. Oh well I guess I’ll get the metal one. Then the motor burnt out. Then I had to modify it to fix the problem with the box mags not fitting. So basically it’s cheap plastic and threatens to snap right in half if I’m not careful with it.

Pros:
Light (almost all plastic)
Shoots pretty straight for a stock gun.
Scares people if you add dummy rounds.

Cons:
Cheap plastic receivers and bipod.
Crummy motor.
Non standard mag well making most m4 mags not compatible without modifications.
Loose safety slides to fire without warning.

"Just got the gun, not impressed at all with the External and internal quality’s of the gun. I paid 350$ for the Performance plus and for that price you could have gotten a full metal M4 with decked out internals that’d eat this this up all day.

"this gun is ok it doesn't shoot to far, fire rate is kinda low, and it shoots slower than you expect it to be. i dont recommend this gun you will regret buying it.

"Very disappointed.

I'm new to airsoft and wanted to get a capable gun but not go overboard out of the gate. I'm a sucker for LMGs so I decided to try the Cybergun M249 Para Featherweight as it fit my budget. I also bought the recommended upgraded barrel, bucking, batteries and aftermarket box mag.

Right out of the gate it had feeding issues. I'm not able to shoot at home so it was difficult to trouble shoot and my field is an hour away. I contacted evike about my feeding issues and they offered that the air seal might be the culprit. I installed my new barrel and bucking hoping the new bucking would fix the air seal issues. Unfortunately it did absolutely nothing to fix feeding issues. The AR mag it came with and the "nutsack" box mag I purchased feed just fine on their own but the gun only shoots 1 out of 5 shots if I'm lucky. It usually just dry fires.

I made the mistake of taking off the orange flash hider and upgrading the barrel and bucking in my excitement to make this gun my own and also trying to trouble shoot the problems myself and have voided the warranty. I should have just sent it back right away when it didn't work out of the box.

I don't know if i just got a lemon or what but I'm 350$+ into this gun with several nights of troubleshooting and I have a worthless paperweight that I've never been able to use.

Just a brutal first experience getting into this sport/game.

My advice is save your money to purchase a better full metal gun with a history of functioning well before you buy this cheap plastic POS and get burned like me.
