Matrix Performance Airsoft AEG Motor (Type: Turbo - High Speed / Short)

"So before I start of this review I'd like to mention that this was MOST LIKELY a bad motor, but I'll share my experiences none the less...

I originally purchased this motor for use in my CYMA M14 EBR. Lo and behold I didn't read the part in the description stating: Recommended for 280-400 fps. I was going for a DMR set up based around an M130 spring and found out the hard way that it will NOT pull back an M130. Strangely enough the motor that came stock in the EBR managed to pull it at a whopping 4 RPS with a 9.6v 1600mAh battery. Needless to say it was a waste of cash. I tried it in my JG SOPMOD M4 but to no avail. Even with the M115 spring that's in there it simply didn't have enough torque! I'm quite surprised considering the countless reviews stating almost 25 RPS was achieved with this thing on an M120 spring! Keep in mind both gearboxes were shimmed, AOE adjusted and well lubricated. I'm overall pretty disappointed in its pulling capabilities but I might have gotten a dud... Oh did I mention the pinion gear is a joke? Hopefully I can find a build to use this in but until then I'll be in my misc. parts drawer.

Flashy motor!!

Cons:
Couldn't get it to spin even an M115 spring!
Practically no torque (In my experiences)
Pinion gear is laughably bad

Overall if you're going to purchase this motor make sure it's used in a low fps build!

if you are looking for a quick upgrade for high rof, i recommend lithium batteries or other motors with strong pinion gears already attached.

powerful magnets ( i hear they are one of the strongest in airsoft. from my experience, a G&G stock motor magnets could barely carry a small hex key and the matrix motor magnets can carry a wrench the size of my arm)

pinion (i hear it has one of the worst pinion gears. to confirm mine are chipping with little use. pieces of the pinion metal got into my gearbox. one of the gears was affected and now has a chip in it too. I worked for hours shimming. the gears were not rly affected. the pinion is almost destroyed. this must mean the pinion is weak. DO NOT USE THIS PINION or risk damaging other parts of your gun.

these matrix turbo motors actually require more time and money to be used reliably. (pinion replacement needs strength or special pinion replacement tool which costs money. A new pinion costs money. for people with time and money, replace the pinion and you'll have a great motor with high rof and high torque.

"This motor was an excellent deal. It works quite well, while it works. Mine died after firing less than 600 BB's with an M130 and a 9.6v NiMh. So, if it works, it will serve you well. For me, it was a waste of 35 dollars.

"I bet this motor is quality but i got very little performance from what i had. i have an echo1 g36c thats about 4 years old. i was running the stock motor and i bought this to replace it and to get more RPM. It sounds like im getting on 2 or 3 more rpm, im also guessing that ill need a much stronger battery to actually get the performance but still i was disappointed that it didnt give more than what it did over the stock motor.

"First impression is awful. The pinion gear stripped with one trigger pull. I am ordering another pinion gear in hope that that motor is ok. Got metal flakes all over my gearbox. Would not recommend.

The motor is the worst high torque motor I have owned, the gear head of the motor stripped after one trigger pull. Had to file a return within the hour of opening it because it broke instantly. The motor is made out of poor materials and will break easily would not recommend under any circumstances
