" This rod has a lot of backbone. I was actually really surprised with how it performed I was able to catch plenty of larger grade rockfish and lingcod using this rod IN 600 feet of water. The rod had plenty of length to it so you could set the hook easier as well as having plenty of bend when fighting the fish. I used a 30–50 pound size the medium heavy and it performed much better than I had anticipated for under a $100 you can't beat this in my opinion. If your willing to spend money on Spinning gear, there are much better options but for the price this is a really nice piece of equipment.
" I've been using this for crabbing and it works well with a 3 oz weight and crab snare. I've fished off the pier, getty, and beach. The reel works well and is perfect for Dungeness and Rock Crab.
