The Gold Flute Valve is designed for practical shooting competition pistols such as Hi-Capa/1911, therefore, it is not necessary to install an O-Ring for the system.
The Red Flute Valve is designed for XDM38/45, M&P Style Pistols, the O-Ring may apply to specify models when necessary.

Performance Difference:
The FPS of the Gold Flute Valve is 10% faster than the Red Flute Valve.
The Red Flute Valve has a better Cold Weather Performance than the Gold version.

"one of the secret weapons to a well built hi capa/1911. not sure why these get alot of hate but they do work very well. ive got one in a hicapa that's about 7 years old and it still goes with zero issues.

"The Red Ice pick can be used in an MWS, jumped my FPS from 310 to 385 average with .25s! Nice and cheap but good construction, this is perfect for those DMR builds.

"Very nice rocket valve.
Fights cooldown and makes the action a little snappier.
Helps with joule creeping too, so if you want to run heavy bbs, use this little piece.

Pros:
Joule Creep for heavy bbs (stay within the limits, guys)
Snappier Action
No noticeable FPS increase w/ joule creep

Cons:
Absolutely none
