The M14 DMR is ideal for outdoor, medium to long range engagements but has the added capacity to be used effectively even in close range fire fights. The long barrel helps give this AEG excellent accuracy and shot consistency at ranges that would normally be more difficult for carbine length rifles. The added benefit of having semi / full-auto fire modes give this rifle an edge over traditional bolt action rifles in target rich environments.

"Sure you might find a m14 cheaper but you get what you pay for don't expect the results to be same as the G&P M14

"Overall pretty nice. I've had the Recon version and the recon comes with better performance out of the box. This version would be suited more for a DMR or Sniper set up which it should be. The Recon M14 is more like an assault weapon cause of it's high rate of fire and shorter barrel. As far as the gearbox on both guns they're booth really smooth and pretty quiet.

358-364 fps and 16 rps

Chrono results for the DMR-Recon using .25g BBs and 9.6v battery
365-375 fps and 20 rps

In my opinion it's perfect for a custom build platform, and rate of fire shouldn't matter if used as a DMR or sniper.
