Why'd I buy this? I just think compact .45 are cool. And I really don't think a real one is a practical gun for carry or for shooting. But airsoft is all about fun, so why not?

I chose this over the black slide version because it was a few dollars cheaper, even though online I thought the black looks better...
In my hand, I am NOT disappointed. It looks and feels absolutely amazing. Of the about than 10 airsoft pistols I've handled, this is without a doubt the nicest looking and feeling. The finish is perfect, it's tight, all the actions are slick and positive. I could not be more impressed for this price. I really like just holding and playing with this thing. Nice fidget toy.

*Seems like* orange tip would be very easy to remove if one wanted to field strip the gun and hold the barrel and just twist at the tip with a vice grip. If this is legal in your area, of course. And I just bet it would look 100% perfect without the tip. Just guessing of course.

It shoot fine, has been 100% reliable so far, tho only after about 100rds so far.

The mag does not hold much gas. I was expecting this because my larger 1911 mags don't hold more than 15 worth on a good day. I'm getting about 10 shots at most, but this is a compact .45 . The real thing holds 6 rds in the mag so, sure, fine. Didn't buy it for serious use. And yeah I'm a weirdo who loads his airsoft to real gun capacities.

Speaking of mags: it works fine with my full size 1911 g-gas mags. This is a good thing because you can't get spares right now AFAIK. I did order a Double Bell 18rd compact, but it got jammed and I had to disassemble the gun some to pry it out. And when I filed down the offending part (the front side of the plastic part at the top), it will come out now, but still won't click into the mag catch. I'm going to try grind the tops of the base plate edges to let it seat deeper, but... That's just a long winded way to say don't buy that mag. Just buy a standard 1911 as a spare for now.

Anyway, great gun, very happy with it.

"I LOVE this little gun. Snappy and authoritative discharge, good weight and feel, nice trigger. Very compact and concealable semi auto sidearm with nice capacity. The only complaint I have this far is at least on mine the seal from the mag to the chamber is a bit crap and you have to watch how you grip because the slightest downward pull on the mag by your finger will cause the seal to breach and the gas to dump. Other than that. One of my favorites in a very extensive pistol collection

"i got one of these about 4 years ago back when they were $65. even now, it's very much worth it. very solid construction, very snappy blowback. the stock trigger is super nice.
now, i do have some gripes.
the mags are standard single stack style 1911 mags, and they have extremely low gas capacity. chances are that you'll run out of gas before finishing off a mag. that and they leak like nothing else.
the loading nozzle for some reason breaks super easily. the only place that i've found the replacement nozzle is here at evike, but it's been out of stock for literal years, so my poor pistol is unusable until i replace the nozzle. just be aware that it doesn't have the greatest aftermarket support.
while this is a great pistol, i've since switched to a hi capa due to the aftermarket support, the massive gas capacity in the mags, and the huge ammo capacity for each mag. although this pistol is just a part of my collection now, it saw some great action and it has a special place in my heart.
if you're thinking about getting this, it's a great little pistol, and super fun for concealment. just be aware of the mag and spare parts issue.
