The STEN (Shepherd Turpin Enfield) Mk.5 is a better-quality, more elaborate version of the Mk.2 that was introduced in 1944. Upgrades included wooden pistol and fore grips, wooden stock, bayonet mount, and a Lee Enfield No.4 front sight. All of these upgrades made the STEN Mk.5 easier to control and more solid than its more rushed predecessors.

They were issued to the elite Red Devils, Britain's elite paratroopers of the 1st Parachute Brigade, in Operation Tonga(Part of Operation Overlord, Normandy), Operation Market Garden (Battle of Arnhem), and all over Europe. After the 2nd World War, it continued to serve through the early parts of the Cold War with British forces around the world. From the Suez Crisis to the Malayan Emergency, it served with distinction until STENs were entirely replaced with the Sterling SMG in the 1950s-1960s.

"If you’re a Anglophile or even a WWII enthusiast, then you’ll probably love this bad boy.

Pros:
~Real wood stock, pistol grip, and vertical grip.
~Full metal receiver gives the gun a hefty weight
~Realistic blowback action
~30 round steel magazine adds even more realism
~It’s British!

Cons:
~Costs an arm and a leg
~Magazine started to leak after a series of full auto fire(Could be due to the green gas I use)
~Heavy weight could be an issue for some people

Overall, this was my first GBB SMG and I’m pretty satisfied with it. I may have some college debt now, but it was worth it.

"Ok...Got this last week. This is one seriously impressive replica sten gun. This thing isn't pot metal by ANY stretch of the imagination. ( Yup...I have that AGM toy) This is pressed steel and is steel or wood in every instance save the inner barrel , bolt carrier and nozzle. This baby sports the exact same breakdown and magwell storage and shoot position as the original. The wood is real beech ( imho too darkly stained) and there is a polished brass buttplate. The trades are very realistic and Northeast has opted to put their own trade in a position where it is only noticeable if one looks up the magwell where it is stowed. Fasteners?...this thing ONLY has standard screw heads ( just like the original) , circlips and springs. No crap weak short screws that back out here. For all intents and purposes..this is a real sten that slings BBs instead of bullets...it's that unreal! The report is loud and crisp...it is definitely a gas hog. I'm getting 390 to 417 with .20s. Accuracy isn't fantastic...but this has a 180mm barrel so it's definitely CQB. I seriously can't recommend this highly enough. Evike...get the damned spare mags please. THEY WILL SELL. 50 bucks a pop from Asia guys...sturdy and heavy. 32 rounds.
