"Ok so I've had this gun for about two years now, and it's time to do it justice:
This was my first airsoft gun and let's start by saying 10/10. Trigger response, ROF, and FPS are all great. I use NiMh batteries, and by the end of a full day the ROF starts to suffer, but only a little. My one main complaint is the range. Shooting beyond 50 feet is a struggle with .20 gram bbs, but I'm sure the following could fix it up just fine:
.28-.30 gram bbs
Upgraded inner barrel
Other than that, cosmetics are sweet, there's no wobble whatsoever, even on most mags.
Some things other people have said but that I will confirm:
Motor gets a little hot on full-auto
Bottom rail isn't complete (I have a trusty vertical grip that I love so much, and a few more inches farther would be great, but no big deal)
The last thing I'll comment on is the Gearbox, but before I say what I'm about to say, let me tell you that this is a stupid sturdy gun.
The gearbox on this M4 is a solid one - I have opened it many times and it has withstood all my poking and prodding.
Compression system is pretty good.
This gearbox was the first one I took apart, but my M4 buddy believed in me and we survived. I learned a lot from him, most of the knowledge at the risk of his life.
The shimming is basic, .1s or .2s, one on each side of each gear. Might get into shimming sometime soon.
I attempted a few humble upgrades on this rifle, such as a maple leaf bucking and air nozzle, and to my disappointment I saw a significant drop in accuracy and overall performance. Do not blame the rifle, I guarantee it was me.
In closing, this rifle is a solid gun. I would recommend to any and every beginner, and anyone looking for a sturdy build.
