"This is a fantastic gun. I got this several years ago as an inexpensive step-up from my beginner gun, and I've been running it ever since. I have the 350 fps M4A1, and a second one as an extra. I have put a couple hundred dollars of upgrades into mine, and I'm about to do some more, which is why I decided it was time for a review - this is my first review on any product ever. The gun is very robust. It's been good for field, backyard, and MilSim playing. The stock parts are decent, and the tuning of the gear box is pretty good. The first things I replaced were the barrel and hop-up. I use a 6.03mm barrel (no matter what barrel it is, if it's not clean it won't shoot well), and a Madbull bucking. I've also rebuilt the gear box with SHS gears, put in an M120 spring, and a high torque motor. It's now shooting right on 400 fps. Those are the main upgrades I've done that directly affect its performance, and as is, I can ding someone on the top of the head from 60 yards (don't aim for the head =). There is one modification to the lower receiver that I recommend even if you're not going to spend any money on this. The point where your middle finger rests against the joint of the pistol grip and the receiver can be very uncomfortable after long hours of play. If you take out the motor and take off the grip; you can lightly sand and file down all the edges to make it nice and comfortable. This gun can take a good beating, but you still need to treat it with care. DO NOT put a li-po straight in it. It can take it for a while, but you'll burn out the micro switch (thus my next modifications...). If you're going to use a li-po, invest in a high quality MOSFET first. I have taken EVERY part of this gun off and reassembled it without any problems, so don't be afraid to open it up and work on it. If it's your gun, own it. Aesthetically, the gun looks awesome and it's not hard to find external accessories for it. This gun is also very comfortable, and its relatively light weight makes is good for lengthy use (mine weighs about 8 lbs, but that's a bit heavier than the stock gun). This is both an excellent starting gun and a good platform to build from. If you're on a budget and thinking about getting this, stop thinking and order it. Sorry this was so long |=

"Don't let the cheap price fool you. This thing is absolutely worth more you pay! It genuinely shoots 370-400. I assumed it would be low O.O.B so I ordered a lambda .05 and .01 barrel and Maxx M4E Hop up. Now it shoots 450 fps, so now I am putting a softer spring, as I didn't buy a cqb rifle to have to run DMR rules at my local field. My local tech and I were checking it and the spring it comes with is BEEFY! So if you are upgrading, plan on a m110 spring being added to the list, maybe even a m100 if you do more than hop up, barrel, and bucking. The .01 barrel shot the FPS up so much lol (obviously). So now I will slap the .01 in my AK74 since it is stock, the barrel should put it just under 400 fps.

If you get the M4E Maxx Hop Up, I can tell you for a fact you will either need to cut or remove your barrel spring. Only do this if your receivers wont line up. But I guarantee it won't. There is zero air leak. Note the 450 fps. Get this gun, now. It is a diamond for aluminum prices!

IF THIS ISN'T IN YOUR CART BY NOW, THERE IS NO HOPE FOR YOU IN THIS WORLD LOL

"I recommended the M4 RIS 8" Stubby version to a friend of mine and let's just say this gun is a beast for the price. This is SUPPOSED to be a beginner gun but I'd say this is more than capable enough for a backup or even a main for an intermediate player. The build of this gun is great for the price. It's a mix of metal and polymer but most of the metal is on the handguard area which does make it a little forward heavy. But if you get the shorter barrel versions that shouldn't be a problem. Accessing the buffer tube where the battery goes is a bit of a pain, but it's definitely worth it because this gun has a sale price of $135 but it's capable of handling an 11.1v lipo. And with that 11.1v lipo the fps is right around 390. Now the best part of this gun in my opinion is the rps. I have a $300 gun and I have other friends with $230+ dollar guns and this cheap little gun shot wayyy faster than all of them! I don't know the exact rps but it's got to be around 25. Each shot isn't always super consistent and on full auto the bbs kind of spray everywhere due to the shorter barrel but that could be a pro for some people!

So to sum it all up this gun is legit incredible for the price if you can get it on sale and it out-shoots some over $230 guns. Possibly the best beginner gun and still amazing as a backup or main for an intermediate to advanced player.

5 stars.
