"This grip looks and feels great and I was looking forward to changing out the standard AR grip I have on my rifle. Unfortunately, I had issues with fitment. Further research taught me that because of ICS's split design, the grip aligns at a different angle to the receiver than other rifles. The receiver I have is APS with a standard V2 gearbox. At first, the grip had about a 1/4" gap between the top of the grip and the receiver. I shaved off the notches in the grip to help it, but found that the back of my receiver was too thick for the groove of the grip, resulting now in a 1/4" gap from the front of the grip. I dremeled the inside of the grip's groove til it fit and the edges of the grip aligned with the receiver, and used 4 screws rather than two to mount the grip; a safety measure, since I had shaved off the stabilizing notches inside the grip. So I felt "I finally have the damned thing mounted. Now let's test if the motor's alignment is alright." I noticed that the motor hole didn't quite match up so I dropped in the motor for testing. The grip didn't come with a motor plate, so I thought no biggie, I'll just use one of my extras. The final slap in the face was that the screw holes are further apart on this ICS grip. TM, G&G, G&P, APS, AIM, and KWA motor plates didn't fit it. Luckily, a friend of mine has a downed ICS brand rifle, so I asked to have his motor plate and I'll let you know how it fits when I get it all together.
All the trouble aside... It really is a nice grip. It was simply meant for ICS rifles, although as far as I can tell, plenty of shaving should hopefully result in a fit. If the motor doesn't align then I'm tossing this junk.
