" Solid rifle(even with its flaws) especially for the price. This review is after I've owned it for a few months and played it for a few games.
Pros:
-Solid construction(no creaking, flexing) feels rock solid and like it can take a beating.
-shoots a little hot(chronoed at roughly 1.6 joules).
-super accurate and has some range(was consistently getting kills out to 65 meters with .3 gram bbs).
-the m203 has a slightly longer plunger - this is great because I have a few 40mm rounds that's detonators wouldn't engage because my g&p m203 launchers plunger was shorter than this one's)
-comes wired to deans out of the box.
Cons:
-just like review below me mentioned, the slide retaining piece on the m203 broke; now it will come complete off if I get too enthusiastic with reloads. It's not a huge issue, just an annoyance.
I would give it 4.5 if it was possible, but I'm going to round it up to a 5 because I love fielding this gun.
" As you might be doing, i purchased this replica because an m16 WITH an M203 felt incredibly cool. Most of the time you have to buy them separately since the old manufacturers no longer make the combo.
I was extremely excited for this replica!
When I received the replica i noticed immediately the weight felt off, it felt very light. It was roughly 7-8lbs but as you know it should be well over 10lbs. Not a bad thing however i did fear the replica felt cheap with the light weight.
The m203 creaked and you could hear the spring shift if you held the replica by the M203.
It does have a horizontal wobble to it as it. As i did fear, the lightweight my be contributed to cheaper metals. I was greatly disappointed after my m203 tube broke clean off after only opening it twice. I can only say perhaps mine was a lemon, or the thin piece of metal holding the tube in can break easily from regular use.
Besides the m203 issues, the replica its self was a beast. Still lightweight however performance wise, i was very impressed. No feeding issues, very accurate. I was easily reaching 50-70m with little adjustments to hopup. Very impressive.
The mock bolt felt solid, pretty standard for today however i was still happy to see it wasnt the old design mock bolt with a spring and crude piece of metal. It definitely did not feel like it would break if you wanted to play with it or simply check your hopup.(however with the pot metal is other parts, id probably not play with it too hard or a lot)
I can definitely say if you want a good replica MAYBE just buy a regular E&C m16 and save your money as the m203 feels a little cheap( especially compared to my double bell GP25, that thing is a monster for no decent reason)
However if you might be looking to save a dollar and get this combo, be prepared to deal with the M203 shenanigans.
