Y&P MK23 Non-Blowback Gas Airsoft Pistol w/ Mock Suppressor Barrel Extension

"Considering this brand is almost non-existent, I am impressed with it's performance.

Back to this gun, It is impressively accurate, decently made and pretty strong. I made a 3d printed open design holster(like the novvy) and I did not install a retaining spring. And well the first time using this holster, the gun kept falling on the ground. This was a rocky, hilly, bouldery AO and the gun left absolutely no breaks or chips. Scuffs yes, but that's expected.
cons:
stock hop bucking
cheapy plastic, but still strong
orange painted on the front of the gun, except the muzzle. kinda difficult to paint over if desired.
I accidentally cracked the suppressor by the threaded part in the worst way.
tips:
One thing I do recommend is replacing the hop up bucking. The original could barely hop .28s.
If you do have a 3d printer, consider printing a mock suppressor.
The original includes an inner barrel which increases the range, but also the velocity, which could push the guns over your field's pistol limits. plus a 3d printed suppressor looks better.

Last thing you can 3d print a TDC mod for the gun to make adjusting the hop up easier since the original you have to remove the slide, it gets old fast.

Over all it's a very nice gun, I love the ergonomics, and I use this gun more than I use my GBB glock or my cz P09!

"Feels like a cheap plastic springer

Shoots like a DMR. Seriously, this thing is a laser beam, and it's quiet as hell too. Literally the only complaint anyone could reasonably have is the externals - The slide and suppressor feel like cheap plastic. But for the price, you can't beat it. I bought it intentionally as a project gun to give me something to work on.

"You pay for what you get. Is this a GOOD Mk23? Ehhhhhhhhhh. Is it good for just $75? Yeah, I'd say it is.

For starters, THIS DOES NOT HAVE STANDARD 14MM NEGATIVE THREADS! Your standard suppressors will NOT fit this! The suppressor that comes with it is an extended inner barrel, NOT foam filled!

With that out of the way, pros and cons:

Pros
+One of the cheapest Mk23s on the market
+acceptable FPS (~.7J without the suppressor barrel, ~1.2 with it)
+Reliable-hasn't had a single mis-feed, failure to fire, or gas leak yet (only shot a few mags however)
+Easy to take apart
+Light because it is all plastic

Cons
-Since it can't fit a standard foam suppressor, it is a lot louder than what an airsoft mk23 should be. And even if you do make one fit, you'll be limited to the lower fps (~.7J)

-The hopup unit is HORRIBLE. On max hop it barely manages to lift .25s to a good hop, so you can forget higher weights than that unless you do some upgrades. My hopup was also stuck upon receiving the gun, so I had to take it apart and fix that. Was an easy fix thankfully. So if you want to make this better, you'll need to invest in upgrades, which sorta defeats the purpose of buying this as a cheap sidearm.

-To adjust the hopup, you need to remove the slide.

-If you like metal, this is also a con: This gun is almost 100% plastic externally-the trigger, barrel, magazine, the slide catch (aka the safety on this) and the fake safety (the safety on the real mk23) are the only metal pieces you will find.

So, if I was rating this ignoring price, it would be a 3 star. But I'm giving it a 4 star because it is only $75. And for $75, it is decent. I bought this as a sidearm id use sparingly/to get my cart to free shipping. If you have the time and effort to make a foam suppressor work on this somehow, that will help this thing out a ton and make it more justifiable.

But, if you are planning on using this a lot (ie your primary is a bolt action and you plan on playing a sniper playstyle) just invest the extra money into a higher-end mk23, there are a couple solid ones out there.

"Ok, so what can I say about this pistol? This thing is a monster in stealth. I was told that it was a little loud, but that couldn't be father from the truth. This firearm is perfect for stealthy operations and as a trust worthy sidearm. The only problem I have with this handgun is that magazines are bit pricey for a handgun like this and it's hard to find holsters for a weapon like this. But for $75, this is a perfect starter handgun and for those who don't want to spend too much for a sidearm.

"First of all, this pistol is CAN be great. Its cheap, but you get what you pay for. It has a reasonably durable plastic body with metal in all the right places. It shoots around 300 fps with .20 and around 1 joule with .43. But the way it comes is with the suppressor as the barrel extension, like it says, and it is LOUD. The other issue is the hop up. It just doesn't work. It has good enough range though (around 40m) and is fine. But if you take apart (or in my case cut-apart) the suppressor and fill it with foam, and then use the hop-up adjuster wheel it has and turn it into a dial for a DIY tdc mod, it shoots amazing. Easily hitting 60-70 meters and pretty silent. I am only giving it 3 stars because of the way it originally comes.

Pros:
cheap
durable
reliable
accurate

Cons:
needs to be modded
plastic

Overall this is a great gun if you can take the time to mess with it a bit
