GSG Tactical G14 Carbine Electric Blowback AEG by ARES (Color: Black / Picatinny)

"This gun is overly expensive for how it actually works. It shoots fine, but the size of the magazine is tiny. It holds about 120 rounds, which is not a lot. I bought the double drum magazine for it and it didn't even fit in right even though it's on the recommended items list for this gun. Definitely buy some of the other magazines that actually for this gun. Overall, if you want a mil sim airsoft gun, this is just for you and buy some more mags got it. If not, look for a good high-cap gun.

"Pros: This gun is....different. Fugly to some but it looks sort of cool to me. Could be a con, but it's radical to say the least.
It shoots pretty fast and the blowback was pretty snappy....when it worked. I'll get to that later.
It's pretty accurate and the range is pretty good. I really like the two round burst.
The quick change spring is always a plus as well. The big handguard makes fitting a large battery easy as pie, unlike the original G36C.

Cons: I really had a lot of problems with this gun. It worked fine at first but then it started to have a delayed trigger pull. Then it just stopped shooting. The blowback also jammed at that point. Sent it back and they returned to me with the same problems. So I just sent it back again and replaced it. The entire fiasco took 4 months, thirty extraneous dollars, and it probably hurt the company as well. Probably just a lemon but still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Now, problems you may get with a WORKING GSG 14: The fire selector switch wanders. It's not a big problem but it can get annoying in the heat of battle.
The plastic feels kind of cheap, but at least it's durable.
And that's about it. It's worth it if it works.

Bottom Line:
Overalll 3/5. Has some great features, the blow back, quick spring change and mosfet are great. Unfortunately cheapish on the important things like loose fitting parts, garbage stock, and unusable sling points. May need some hopup tuning out of the box.

The Good:
Ok basically the BEST part about this gun is really the features you are getting at this price point.
This gun is very very fun to shoot. The blowback is really snappy and louder than most other EBB guns I've tried.
The blowback system is very simple in itself, I don't think it puts a lot of extra stress on the gearbox.
The Mosfet is really nice, the trigger has a pretty long pull but you can still shoot super super quickly in semi automatic.
2 rnd burst is a lot of fun, especially with more powerful batteries.

The quick change spring is really great, the first event I went to had a lower FPS limit and this gun chrono'd a little too hot. It took me under 2 minutes to change out the spring. The FPS is around 366 with .25s with the stock spring. Around 300 with a m110 spring.

The BAD:
The first thing I noticed when testing the gun.. it has major hopup / bucking issues. Either the bucking or the nub has to GTFO. Even with the hop completely off the nub still makes too much contact and BB's are curving way up and are very inconsistent. Nobody else seems to have the same experience with this gun so I'm guessing my issues are a fluke.

The gun is basically held together with 4 pressure pins, one for the battery compartment handguard, one for the lower receiver.
and 2 for the stock. The plastic on this gun is OKAY, and the pins don't hold very tightly. Of of the stock pins fell out on it's own and lost forever on the airsoft field. The easy takedown of this gun is nice but it's almost too easy, you might want to tape over the pins.

Slingpoints. The "Sling points" are these pin sized metal bars that are 1/4" in width. I tried various slings, 1 point, 2 point, 2 point VTac. None of them fit the sling points. Even if they did, this part of the gun looks super fragile and I doubt it would hold up.

The stock adjustment is pretty lulz on this, It doesn't feel very solid and easily slips positions.

Overall I think it's worth the money for the features, but don't expect great build quality.

"I'm new to airsoft so I've just got this gun, and it hasn't fired a single shot... It just dry fires. I've checked the mags, they work fine, I've cleaned the barrel, and still nothing. I feel like I'm missing a step. A couple weeks before this gun, I bought a Scar H. and it had a problem as well! nothing happened when I pulled the trigger, and now with this, the thing doesn't fire anything... am I just SUPER unlucky, or am I doing something wrong. I wish I could just get something that works! However, this gun sounds great, has a heavy feel to it, nice blowback, and is easy to disassemble. Probably a great gun, if it worked... I read a couple of other people had this same issue so keep that in mind.

"I don't know if I got a bad one, but mine is very disappointing. Were should I start. I should with the biggest one: my gun was DOA (dead on arrival); the gun won't fire. I should say that it does all the actions for firing, but no BB's come out. but that's just my gun, hopefully. i am very disappointed after a few weeks of being very excited for this rifle, and have it be an expensive noise maker.

"I was really excited for this gun, but sadly when I received it... IT DIDNT WORK?!?!
At first i thought it could have been the batteries but i lt wasnt since i tested it with other guns, so i then dismantled the whole gun to see if there were internal issues... But i still didnt see anything wrong.
Also i ordered magazines to with the gun... BUT THEY DONT FIT...

My gun could just be "broken" and its just my gun thats having these troubles

So if you do buy this be cautious
