Why Box Mags?:
Box magazines provide a large amount of firepower in a relatively compact package. Airsoft box magazines come with different variations of winding mechanisms. Some use the sound of the gun to automatically wind the mag, while others require the user to press a winding button. Most box mags hold between 1000 and 5000 rounds, making them perfect for squad gunners and support roles.

"I've been using MAG Brand 'Nutsack' box mags for M249/MK46 for years. Never had any problems with any that I've owned. I currently have one that I bought about a year ago, and it's also working fine. Feeds an A&K branded 'middleweight' MK46 using the remote switch, and it feeds well and keeps up with a modified high ROF build. Not sure what happened to the other reviewers, but I felt it was worth a better review based on my experiences.

"Feeds great! I modified one of these to replace my broken M240 box mag (I can't find an OEM replacement anywhere). With a regular 9v battery it was feeding 20+rps no problem!

I took off one star because the tiny door is a major pain to refill from, I plan to modify it with a better refill port.

"I bought this about 4 months ago and used it 4 times. In that i have had nothing but issues and problems. the first is that if your using an A&k this will not fit in correctly and will require slight modification. Next is the way that you have to feed the BBs into the mag, there is a small port that is no bigger than a dime. This is absurd because we support gunners have to carry 1000 rounds in that little box mag which is a pain. After the first use of the box mag the pressure switch actually broke off of the wire. The way the wires where connected looks like what happens when you teach a 10 year old how to soder wiring. Overall the last one could just be me but the other two are for everyone ( i have multiple 249's), but when the box mag did work it was quiet, efficient, and most of all it kept up with my 33 RPS.
