• VFC's MK48 AEG utilizes aluminum alloy for the main structure, which greatly reduces the weight of the whole product. This provides a weight reduction from almost 10 kg (if manufactured using full steel material) to about 4 kg with the VFC aluminum design. Internally, all key components are still made from steel, so durability is retained where it matters most! This design not only reduces the weight, but also maintains the structural strength of the Mk48 platform
• Built-in BB storage space! The VFC MK48 can provide 800 rounds of BB firepower internally to the platform without an additional ammunition box.
• To allow users to directly adjust the hop-up on the battlefield, VFC has developed a simpler adjustment method. The hop-up can be tuned directly on the body of the Mk48 without having to open the bolt or the receiver cover assembly. You only need a simple 2mm hex wrench to make hop-up changes on the fly!
• Staying true to the design of the real MK48 MOD1, the barrel can be removed using the carry handle. This design is not only just a fun feature, but also more convenient for daily product maintenance
• Quick change spring gearbox allows you to easily and rapidly swap out spring strengths

The Mk48 is an improved version of the Mk46, scaled up to fire 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition developed for use by USSOCOM. At the time, the Navy SEALs were looking for a weapon that could replace the M60 / Mk43. The aim was to produce a lightweight machinegun that still brought the sheer firepower of the M240 or M60. In 2001, the firearms manufacturer Fabrique Nationale began working on the new weapon. The first improved model, the Mk48 MOD 0, went into service with the SEALs around 2003. Since then, the weapon has also been adopted by other special operations forces units such as the 75th Ranger Regiment. While developed for a specific unit, the Mk48's portability, firepower, and range led to it being introduced for frontline use in a wide variety of units. The Mk48 MOD 1 brings the extended range and greater penetration of the 7.62x51mm round to a lighter, more compact platform. In use by US SOF, it was designed to be light and compact enough to keep up with troops as they maneuver on and close with the enemy. The machine gun can additionally augment conventional ground forces as well when a maneuverable, lightweight, large-caliber machine gun is needed.
