Designed in the early 1900's the Arisaka Type 38 rifle was one of the most common bolt action rifles seen in the hands of the Japanese Imperial Army. Based upon this rifle, the Type 97 Sniper Rifle was imagined as a suitable sniper rifle to be employed by sharpshooters of the Imperial Japanese Army. While not as powerful as its successor, the Type 99, the Type 97 was well designed and enjoyed widespread use and respect from the soldiers who fielded it in combat. With a monopod and 2.5x scope, the long barrel of the Type 97 produced minimal flash and smoke, making counter-sniping activities rather difficult when the Type 97 was employed by a good sniper.

"So I just got this today and I do have to say be careful when you pull the charge handle. I pulled the bolt back for the first time and when I returned the bolt it pinched my skin pretty bad. The bowl pool is a little bit rough but those of you who are used to it will get it in no time easy. It became very smooth and this gun feels very authentic and rugged like I think the original would feel. I can’t stress enough how authentic it feels.
