"This weapon is one of the most unique, cool and incredibly fun airsoft weapons I have ever shot. It is in its own unique category and I've always dreamed of owning an automatic shell ejecting gas blowback airsoft handgun. And here it is! I had never even heard of a CZ75 until I saw this listing Altough a pretty cool pistol, there is nothing remarkable about a real steel CZ75. It is just another 9mm automatic handung. Part of the "wonder 9's" club that were a group of many new modern automatic handguns. The reason I bought this weapon is simple. It is an automatic shell ejecting airsoft GBB handgun! There are no other shell ejecting automatic airsoft GBB handguns that I know of, besides the old Marushin Glock 23 shell ejector from many years ago. But that was 8mm and had many flaws and has been discontinued because of that. I do like the feel of the weapon, and the fact is is a replica of a different handgun instead of say, a Glock 17 that I have 3 different ones already. Basically I am saying it stands out from a typical airsoft GBB handgun collection.

Now, lets actually talk about the weapon. I bought the ultra heavy weight, which is the most expensive one. I have absolutely no idea what the actual difference is between the different "weights" of Marushin CZ75s. I assume the ultra heavy weight is the heaviest (duh) and hopefully the best built and strongest one, in terms of durability and lifespan. This weapon is obviously not for airsoft games and only for grins and giggles. Basically, the Marushin CZ75 is only for indoor shooting and just for fun, not to be even considered as a skirmish weapon or sidearm. The performance such as accuracy and velocity don't matter with this weapon because the reason you would want to own a gun like this is to shoot it and have shells fly all over the place. Mag dumping all 8 rounds as fast as possible ALWAYS puts a smile on my face and makes both my girlfriend an I laugh manically! We both love it and it is a TON of fun. But there are a few major downsides that must be addressed and dealt with.

The Marushin CZ75 is made in Japan, and as a result, has a plastic slide, frame and outer barrel and is designed to be used with HFC134a only. I had full intention of using this weapon with only HFC134a. I did not want my precious Marushin CZ75 to blow up. So, the weapon itself is very plastic. But it does not feel cheap. It is well made but is very light even with the magazine loaded. It has a higher quality feel than typical plastic Japanese GBBs, like Tokyo Marui Glock models, but not as good as Marui's higher end models like the PX4. It feels similar to many Japanese KSC guns, specifically the KSC 1911. The Marushin CZ75 does have plenty of metal parts though. The trigger, hammer, safety, slide lock, hopup unit, inner barrel and all the internal functioning parts are all metal. The shells are unfortunately plastic. But they are VERY nice! The look very shiny like metal shells would be and I like them a lot. The plastic shells are supposed to be replicas of a 9x19mm parabellum pistol round. But they are WAY too small to be 9mm para. They are 32 ACP size, but shorter. To be fair, the shells have to be smaller in order to have the weapon function properly. The shells are shorter than most real steel hangun rounds because of the gas gasket at the top of the magazine, which seals with the gas blowback piston and powers the gun. The shells also have to be a smaller diameter to fit in the "chamber" with the hopup unit inside the outer barrel. This weapon is 6mm BB caliber and NOT 8mm. I could not find this information ANYWHERE! What caliber is it? I was afraid that I would get this weapon and it would be 8mm and I would not be able to shoot it because I have no 8mm BBs. I could get 8mm BBS, but Marushin figured out several years back that they lost the BB size war to Marui and 6mm. But it is great that it is 6mm BB so it doesn't need special ammo. The BBs go in the tips of the shells which have a rubber gasket to hold the BBs in and seal with the hopup unit. There are two kinds of shells. Both are identical except for their color. There are brass colored shells, and there are dark silver shells which actually look really cool! The silver shells are cheaper for some reason but the perform exactly the same as the brass colored shells. The magazines are metal and the shells are loaded into the magazine at the top one by one just like a real steel firearm. It is SO COOL to load the magazines. The magazines hold 8 rounds, which really sucks because the real steel CZ75 magazines hold 18 rounds. The smaller shells and limited ammo capacity it a compromise to have enough room in the magazine for gas and all the functioning parts. The weapon is capable of loading an extra round in the chamber plus a full 8 rounds in the magazine, making the actual capacity 8+1. I REALLY wish the magazine could have held at least 10 shells but oh well. The magazines can be loaded with the slide open or closed. If closed, racking the slide will chamber the first round and the weapon is ready to fire.

Now, another MAJOR warning! The item description claims that the weapon fires at 300 FPS with 0.2g BBs. That is absolutely ridiculous. The Marushin CZ75 fires at a muzzle velocity of 160-170 FPS with 0.2g 6mm BBs and HFC13a gas and doesn't even come CLOSE to 300 FPS even when fired with green gas. Even with 0.12g BBs it only shoots at 285 FPS. But 0.12g BBS cannot be fired properly from this weapon. The weapon has fixed hop up and it is designed to be set for 0.2g BBS, which it actually get very close to being set right. So I know there is nothing wrong with my weapon because the fixed hopup is causing the BBs to fly straight even at such a low velocity. That's just how it is. The weapon is actually surprisingly accurate and the BBs travel slow, but straight. The low velocity reduces maximum range but you can get hits at 100 feet, assuming the target doesn't move or dodge the easily seen slow moving BBs, and even notices they have been hit. Using 0.15g BBs or 0.17g BBs is a good option which gives you much needed extra velocity, bumping it up to about 220 FPS for 0.17g BBS and 240 FPS for 0.15g BBs. The hop up is a bit too high for 0.15g BBS and accuracy is affected, but the BBs move much faster. 0.17g BBs are a good option for good velocity, range and accuracy. The velocity is very disappointing and borderline unacceptable even for indoor close range shooting. I say a minimum of velocity 200 FPS is where it is acceptable. This makes using green gas a desirable option.

So, I never intended to ever load or fire this weapon with green gas, but I just had to know! And boy is this where things get good! So, HFC134a produces a good amount of recoil, but the weapon tends to jam on occasion. I believe when the weapon cools down after a few shots, the rounds fail to chamber because the slide isn't going all the way back and closing with less than maximum recoil spring compression, so the rounds fail to chamber. But I've never had the weapon fail to eject shells. The weapon also fails to lock back on empty when using HFC134a sometimes. Not a huge deal as a lot of guns do this. I've read reviews from a lot of people, and a big complaint is about the first round not chambering. So, this is because when the slide is locked open, the slide is not all the way back, and pressing the slide lock releases the slide with less than maximum spring tension. The slide only moves back about an extra quarter inch (6mm) from where the slide lock holds it, but that is enough to get rounds to chamber reliably. So if using this weapon stock with no upgrades, pull the slide back by hand ALL THE WAY for maximum loading reliability, and even if locked open, pulling the slide back with release the slide lock and give the slide a bit of extra momentum. That being said, the spring is borderline too weak. More on that next...

I decided to load green gas in my Marushin CZ75 and risk blowing it up for some extra performance. Completely stock, the Marushin CZ75 will take green gas. But I do not like the way the gun snaps when shooting. It kicks WAY too hard and fast. I feel like it is going to break any shot. I fired about 50 rounds out of my stock CZ75 with green gas. So I upgraded the recoil spring! I found a spare spring in my gun graveyard/spare parts bin that is about the same diameter and bit longer, but it fits! I believe it is a WE Luger recoil spring, the one that goes around the barrel. But I've found that most Glock springs also fit but they are a bit weaker than the spring I used. The important part is to simply find a spring that fits and is a bit tighter than the stock recoil spring. The WE Luger recoil spring I put in the Marushin CZ75 makes it so that the first round always chambers, even if the slide is closed from sitting on the slide lock and when pointing straight up. The weapon no longer snaps like it did with the stock spring and kicks very hard, but reasonable. I feel like a lot of force is now being absorbed by the new spring. With green gas, the velocity jumped to a consistent 200 FPS with a 0.2g BB, and 250 FPS with 0.17g BBs and 265 FPS with 0.15g BBs. Also, the weapon is WAY more reliable and always ejects and feeds rounds properly. And the slide never fails to lock open on empty. To date, I have fired about 500 rounds out of my upgraded Marushin CZ75 with green gas and it still works great. I DEFINITELY recommend that if you wish to purchase this weapon, get an upgraded recoil spring and run this weapon with green gas. Get a KWA G17 recoil spring to install. You have to take it off the guide rod but it should work. I'm not sure what other springs might work, but the WE Luger recoil spring I put in there is working great! The spring doesn't have to be perfect, just find any spring that fits and is stiffer than the stock spring. The weapon is far more reliable and fun to shoot on green gas, but I don't trust running it stock. The recoil spring is just too weak.

Another downside of this weapon is its main feature. It ejects shells. And I mean it WINGS the shells! The Marushin CZ75 is nothing like an Umarex 1894 lever action, or even a G&G Kar98k shell ejector. It's like every time you fire, you take a shell and throw it as hard as you can across the room! The shells go EVERYWHERE! And because they are so small and are plastic, they BOUNCE! They bounce way more than you would expect. They get lost in places you wouldn't expect to find. I found one in an empty soda can on my desk. I also found one on my kitchen counter. I've never fired the gun in my kitchen before. It must have bounced all the way from my living room and around the corner to wind up where it did. In the few weeks I have had this weapon, I have lost 7 shells. SEVEN! That's almost a full magazine! The shells come in packs of 10 for a reason. I know the shells are very expensive, but I recommend getting way more shells than you think you want. Get an extra 10 pack in addition to any extras you want to get. The magazines are extremely expensive as well, so having extra loaded shells you can load back into the magazine without having to go find and pick up shells in order to continue shooting is ideal. You will definitely spend way more time looking for shells and reloading the weapon than you will actually shooting. I got the silver shells to load different weight BBs into, like 0.15g or 0.17g BBs and use the brass shells for 0.20g BBs. I also bought plenty of extra shells and keep them loaded in a tray ready to load and fire.

The Marushin CZ75 is an absolute blast to have and is one of a kind in my extensive airsoft collection. But it is extremely expensive to start with, and extra shells and magazines are going to cost you. I spent almost $700 on the heavy weight version, 4 spare magazines and 6 extra packs of shells. Get the silver shells to save some money. Also, beware of the cheap aftermarket shells that I've read are available. Yeah they are very cheap, but are not nearly as reliable as actual Marushin shells. For something new, exciting and unique, get this weapon if you can afford it, and upgrade the recoil spring and run it with green gas! I am super happy with my Marushin CZ75. Even now, it was worth all the money and I have more shooting sessions to come!
