"how do i get a special order from evike to reenforce the gearbox?
by Joshua A. on 10/14/2008
"The gearbox isn't reinforced but if you ask them to reinforce them for you then they will. You just gotta pay for the labor. Still.. it's a pretty good deal =D

"hey um is the gear box reinforced? i wana get one but i dont know wich one to get the echo 1 or the a&k
by Pierre M. on 10/05/2008
"The echo1 & A&K M249 series have the same internal. The echo1 have a logo "echo1" printed on the frame and the A&K one here at Evike come with the gun case.

"hey umm dos the echo 1 hav the new internal parts like the a&k?
by jared w. on 09/30/2008
"your answer is ECHO1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a G36C made by ECHO1 and it never jams and if you upgrade this thing you will hurt someone because it is accurate and powerful.if you've got anymore questions email me at [email protected] and tell me its you and ill answer your question.

"great gun, heavy, accurate, good ROF, very powerful.

ranger grip on this is pointless cuz it sits so far forword that unless u have arms like a monkey u cant really hold the grip with a full stock to yr shoulder... RIS is a much better idea... mine looks fantastic with the RIS on it and the upgrade options range from grenade launchers to lasers and grips(note: if u want a grenade launcher u need a riser mount)

"Ranger grip and full stock can fit on this M249 easy.
by dane k. on 07/16/2008

"Gun is amazing.

Box mag that comes with it is awful.

All in all, 4/5 for mag issues.

"Had this gun for about 5 months. I got the mk46 variant. Surprisingly one thing I will say is that I fit a 363mm inner barrel in it quite easily compared to the stock 320mm. Not sure if it’s just a typo but 363 is the correct inner barrel length as far as I can tell. One thing I recommend is to immediately throw the hopup out and get a bullgear and replace the nozzle too. Other than that it’s a solid gun.

"This is a good gun. I first got it and it ran like absolute trash because my boxmag wasnt working and I was using 9.6V Batteries. but then I upgraded to a 11.1V and it shoots FAST then I realized I cant get people far so I upgraded my hopup for 50$ and it doesnt require too many upgrades at all. One minus you cant get spare parts ever!

"This thing is a beast, by far one of the most sturdy guns I have and it’s gearbox can take some punishment. If you’re getting the middleweight you’re going to get weight, it certainly is a lot to lug around sometimes. But be ready to have out of the box issues, particularly with magazines. The box magazines that it comes with are junk and can’t feed. The only solid fit for m4 mags that I have found are majority polymer mag hi caps, be prepared to buy a couple of those.

"I bought this about 6 months ago and had very few things break on it the two things that broke were the carry handle and the motors gear teeth. The handle was a simple fix and the motor was too if you know what you're doing when it comes to internal work. If you are new to mod work don't try and fix it it's very hard to find guides online. however, the whole gearbox comes out very easy and changing the motor was not too bad. on this, the battery is wired to the stock off the gun it uses Tamiya for the plugs. I would not recommend this being your first airsoft gun as the mid-weight can get heavy if you play long games and if something breaks it is harder to find parts but not impossible. Also, do relly on the Facebook comments for info about the airsoft gun they can be dated and some comments are not correct or they are talking about a different model of firearm.

"I have the mk46 version and got it on sale back in November 2020. I have since used it 6 or seven times with a total of ~40,000 bbs through it. I have only used an 11.1 lipo and was getting 360 fps w/.2s at 20rps. The first game I used it in, I noticed the the stock hopup couldnt carry .25s past 80ft or .20 past 100ft. This may bot sound all that bad, but it made the gun almost unusable at the large outdoor field I play at. Not to mention this problem is notorious with these machine guns, so I am confident in saying mine wasnt a lemon and is attainable to poor design. I replaced my hop up unit, bucking, and inner barrel. The inner barrel i got is shorter than the stock one, but i still saw an increase of 75 ft, allowing me to hit targets 150-175 feet away with ease. Another problem i have run into are screws backing themselves out. I had to order a replacement for the big screw that holds in the stock and I saw another screw on the receiver missing. Specific to the mk46, the gun is very front heavy due to the full metal construction of the front rails. Personally, i removed the top rail and bipod to reduce the front heaviness of the gun. A lot of people complain about the stock box mag being unreliable, but I have yet to have a problem with it.

Pros:
Reliable
Good rps
Lightweight ( for a mg)
After market support

Cons:
Very short range stock
Screws back themselves out
Front heavy (mk46)

Conclusion: When I bought this, it was on sale for $240 and that is a great price for what i got. However, I would not buy it again for more than $350 solely because the hop up unit is improved because it is absolutely useless from the factory
